You guys are placing too much importance on this, after you hit 27-30 no one cares where you went to school.

Not necessarily, although I do agree that the want to get into a certain school and thinking that there's no point of going to College or University if you don't get accepted shows a clear sign of idiocy.

In Canada there's certain schools that look really good when you're applying for a job such as McMaster in Canada for any health science related field or Ryserson for Journalism, also the Universities and Colleges have employers come to them and help find them find prospective employees.

I have to place a huge importance on where I want to go, the school that I'd like to go to (Humber for Journalism) offers little prospect for careers, I've spent the past year or so discussing with many teachers and individuals throughout my community that went to or knows someone who went to Humber for Journalism and the general consensus is that it's better if I get a degree in Journalism or try a University-College program that will better my chances of ending up where I want to be.

the nicer school is just a springboard with a bit more unf. after that its all you. i went to a very nice school, so im starting out pretty solid at age 22. but if i dont perform well, i could be doing the exact same job in 10 years. once your foot is in the door, its all you from there. at least in this business (engineering)
