I hate my wisdom teeth. I haven't gotten them out due to the fact that I am just to cheap and choose to suffer with them. So once every 3 or 4 months I get a lot of pain for a few days as the one tries to keep pushing out.

thats a great way to deal with your problems. why dont u just deal with the pain for a week and not for therest of ur life. p.s. if u get some sort of mouth disease, ill b the one in the corner saying i told u so.

Cops has a similar thread going but it seems to be headed in the wrong direction so I'm going to bump this one.

Apparently I'm too stupid to grow a full set of wisdom teeth. Only my top left came in, and it's about as sideways as a tooth can get. It's angled backwards and it hadn't been hurting much until last night, when it kept me up until 5:30 AM. So this morning I squeezed in a 3:00 appointment, meaning doomsday is about an hour and a half away.

I've never had major dental issues, just a bit of plaque and two or three small cavities. Needless to say I am quite worried. Am I going to die?

Kolar had one wisdom tooth pulled and he was up and running in a day or two, as you get older your wisdom teeth roots start to grow and move in different directions so it may cause initial pain once they're out but after your home and loaded on pain killers you should be fine.

My mouth is still frozen, I had another appointment today to pull our more bone sockets. My wisdom teeth procedure went from moderate to bad and then to fucking ridiculous.

Jerome - Don't smoke, your putting in several hundred chemicals into an open wound, I had a cigar a week after my wisdom tooth were taken out and my dentist yelled at me for about ten minutes. It really depends though, I would wait until the swelling is gone and your stitches have fallen out. Just go out and get the patch if you HAVE to have nicotine.

edit: I really wish I could find my wisdom teeth package I got from my dentist but I'm pretty sure they suggest drinking sugary soft drinks a day or so after the procedure. Oh and don't try and kiss the girlfriend right away, its just not gonna happen at least in my case. Don't have sex, unless she doesn't mind getting you off without you returning the favor.

I seriously could not believe how quick the procedure was. They gave me some tasty local anesthesia on a big swab, and the surgeon was in and out in less than 60 seconds. I can't say it was entirely painless because I'm still bleeding like hell (I need to change the gauze after I post this), but given the horror stories you assholes put on me I'm pretty happy... although the cracking sound when the tooth came out did kind of turn my stomach.

So now I'm free to eat and drink whatever I feel like I can handle. No smoking and no straws are the only restrictions. I survived wisdom tooth extraction and all I got was a lousy +1 to my post count.

I didn't have any pain at all really, they pulled one wisdom and one top molar which had a bad cavity but no opposite bottom molar to rest against (but the wisdom tooth which wasn't going to come in normal). I was pissed off a bit after waking up because I couldn't feel my mouth and only tasted blood. But besides that it was a day or two before I felt normal, a week later if not the stitches fell out and I guess I got lucky compared to Cops on the healing part because I haven't had any issues. Cops' problem is extremely rare so I wouldn't worry about it.
