We can't do a no-confidence vote in Congress, can we? I thought that was Canada and England? Impeachment is a different story -- but I've never heard of a no-confidence vote.

Since this thread seems to be full of misunderstandings and/or incorrect facts....
Under the Constitution's impeachment clause, Article 2, Section 4, "The President, Vice President and all Civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors."
Clinton was not impeached for getting 'his wiener sucked'. He was impeached for committing a crime when he openly lied, under oath, in court. It is kinda important to the legal system when you take an oath 'to tell the truth, the whole truth' and then proceed to lie, particularly when you are the President of the US.
I doubt Clinton was the first president who lied :fear:
The American justice system has a very important concept, it is taking an oath to swear to tell the truth, and nothing but the truth, is the foundation of the entire legal system.
This is not about spinning crap in the news, or lying to reporters, or even lying to the public in some news conference. Telling a lie in this country is not a crime. You can lie to the police, you can lie to anyone you want and it is not a crime.
But when anyone walks into a court, swears to tell the truth, and then lies, it is a crime. It is a crime for the reasons I stated above. If anyone else had lied after taking the oath, we would be in contempt of court and we go to jail.
And FYI, since the President is the highest ranking officer in the military, I assume that Clinton could have also been charged with fraternizing with subordinates. It is against military law to have sex with those ranking under you for obvious reasons.
Clinton's impeachment never was finalized, in noting that if it had been so during his term, Al Gore would have become President.
To impeach the President would have removed him from office and title, allowing the Vice President to become President. This never happened.
Speaking of telling the truth under Oath, anyone see Gonzalez on C-Span lie his ass off in front of the Senate Judiciary comittee? Nice work for the attorney general as he seemed to exhibit the interpretation skills of an idiot.
The privilege of the writ of habeas corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in cases of rebellion or invasion the public safety may require it.
What does that mean to you? Does it mean every citizen has the privilege of the writ of habeas corpus?
Well according to the Attorney General IT DOES NOT. I don’t think I’ve ever heard the argument that Habeas Corpus does not extend to every citizen, I’ve only heard arguments as to why it should be suspended right now because of the terrorist threat. But to say nobody enjoys that privilege, well that is just stunning.
Let’s take his stupid fucking logic to the next step.
The Second Amendment:
A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.
Darn, the amendment only says the right cannot be taken away, it does not say that every citizen has the right. So I guess we have no right to bear arms because the constitution does not say everyone has that right? It only seems to say the right can’t be taken away from the people that already have it.
ha·be·as cor·pus - n - a writ requiring a person to be brought before a judge or court, esp. for investigation of a restraint of the person’s liberty, used as a protection against illegal imprisonment.
May your shit come to life and kiss you on the face.
In regards to CLinton being impeached and the debate on if it was carried out notes that President Bill Clinton was impeached as President of the United States on December 19, 1998, by the House of Representatives and subsequently not removed from office by the Senate on February 12, 1999.
The charges were perjury and obstruction of justice, arising from the Lewinsky scandal. After a 21-day trial, the Senate vote fell short of the two-thirds majority required for conviction and removal from office under the Constitution.
So was he actually impeached? NO
May your shit come to life and kiss you on the face.
