in the manga.. it took a really really really LONG time for sasuke to get introduced again. If it took manga that long, it will take the anime even longer, consider how many 'flashbacks' animes usually have. this is a way to make the fans wait and not go "WHERE THE FUK IS SASUKE. OMG THIS IS BORNING."

tru it does take them a while especially with the introduction of sai and naruto fighting orochimaru as well which is probably going to be at least 2-3 episodes etc

Naruto is one of my favorite animes (Full Metal Alchemist being #1), but it definately has issues when it comes to filler episodes. I have probably watched the following episodes about 20 times each:

61-62 (Naurto/Neji fight I believe)
79-80 (Naruto/Gaara fight)
95-96 (Naruto masters Rasenga)
131-133 (Naruto/Sasuke fight)

I wish you could just skip all the episodes in between the good ones, but you really can't appreciate the meaning behind the fights unless you get all the back story. I believe the main story line does not emerge again until episode 260ish, if the Wikipedia site is correct anyways.

lol yeah especially how it ends.

But thats what the anime does. It extends what is really short in the manga.

ESPECIALLY TRAINING SCENES (friggen dragonballz pfft with their extended charge ups)
