in 7th grade they sent a form to each parent for permission to show your child a slideshow containing disease infected genitalia...

sitting beside all my classmates,male and female alike, i had never been so grossed out.


anyone that watched that slideshow was pretty much afraid to touch the opposite sex for like a week. epi, i'd imagine that it is every bit as graphic as what you had in med school. im not going to go into any detail... but since that day, i no longer wonder what a weiner would look like if you dipped it in battery acid and then dumped salt on it. the female ones were worse... but hit a little less close to home... but all in all, traumatic.

I remember, one day, in gym in high school, in the continuation of sex ed, they had seperated us boys from the girls, so that half got taught one day while half was in the gym, and vice versa. Anyways, one day, the showed a pregnancy video in the girls sex ed class, apparently it was uh, graphic, and very violent, and for the rest of the day, every single girl I knew, couldn't talk to any guys they knew, and it was fucking hilarious.

Of course I think they should show some of the pics I saw in my med school lecture on STDs to 12 year olds... that would really scare people into at least practicing safe sex!

Our Biology teacher had a map laying around with those kinds of pics, it went around the class a couple of times.. I only saw like 2, but that was 2 too many.

Our sex ed was just so funny, they would use these drawings off the human body, and those movies from the 40s, and tell us stuff everyone already knew. It was great fun.

Sex ed here was actually quite good. We learned about everything from STDs to nocturnal emissions to periods to anatomy. All done in grade 7.

i think our sex ed started in 7th grade or so. but didnt get into any real detail till later.

then in 8th grade, the girls and guys were split up and asked whatever questions they wanted by writing them on pieces of paper. all passed them to the front, and then they were read and answered by the teacher. i still remember that with hilarity. one of the best "does a rubber band and a plastic bag work just as well?" on top of others.

i dont know where i was goin with this or what it had to do wiht the topic

congrats on the high test scores. i think epi had the right idea with how the standardized tests work or something.

In our sex ed class, we learned about avoiding drugs and alcohol because they can ruin your body. We learned about avoiding risks that can hurt us.

The sad thing is, I'm not even kidding.

We take "sex ed" in 8th grade and 9th grade. Both times it's a complete joke where they just say "Don't have sex. Condoms fail 100% of the time. Now to the bigger issue - alcohol damages your liver!"

But where does she get to be social if she doesn't go to school? I mean it's the most natural way to get to know people.

We live like a block away from a very popular Park District where she gets plenty of social contact playing with the kids there.

Edit:> she still has her summer school with the Park District, which last most of the summer.

Moreover, she's gets her interaction from the kids in the neighborhood and with hundreds of kids in groups with her summercamp.. which last most of the summer.

Social skills develope by being social. She gets that & she'll get more as she gets older and ventures out more & further from home.

LOL I remember some of the questions too. Like, "Can the sperm swim off the belly or the pubic area into vagina and still get the girl pregnant?"

I read in a psych-mag that homeschooled kids perform better when they enter normal education. Apperently homeschooling is fine till the age of 11-12. Afterwards a child needs to be able to develop oneself on it's own as well.

But who is teaching your kids HS, you or your wife? And how old is your daughter now, 13-14 years old??
Isn't it expensive, you or your wife has a job but the other one doesn't and then you have to feed your child.

I'm not really into this home schooling stuff cause really you need school to develop your social abilities.

My wife & my mother. She's 10. It's about $500 now & increases about 50-$100 each year. & atm just me that earns the cabbage.
