I deleted the question because I thought it would be better to not provoke a fight, I do not really know you, plus I have immense amount of respect for your boyfriend. I think to some extent we agree on some level that this tour can be seen as self righteous and hypocritical, although maybe this tour will spark change in the people that come out to it. I'm not mathematically inclined, and I have never claimed to be but what if this tour inspires 10,000 people to use energy efficient light bulbs or cut down on their energy usage? Can we then justify the use of four buses?

I can see what you mean, but I can't for the life of me understand why of all places to promote the cause anyone would choose a University campus. Here you will find relatively intellectual people, informed on current issues and aware of, at the very least, global warming. Of all the people I spoke with on the topic, hardly any even knew there was a concert and that it was to raise global warming awareness. Of the majority of the people there to see Sheryl Crow, few gave a shit about global warming at all.

Our silly rally had no vicious intent, it was purely for fun.

And, of all the retarded ways I've spent afternoons, having a faux protest, riling people up and spending time listening to what other people have to say on many current events was very fun and very interesting. I probably won't frequent the free-speech alley like that any time soon, I'd prefer staying home, smoking pot and playing video games or staring at a computer screen all day.

I'm glad you caught one of the key words....satirical. Play. Pretend. Joke. The point was to seem arrogant, stubborn and outspoken about a topic that we're all blissfully ignorant about (Mocking other protesters that frequent our school as well as poking fun at the irony and senselessness of the Stop Global Warming Concert Tour).

And I pay for school by being a commodity to my employer and by being an obedient daughter. Same difference, really. But thanks for editing that question out anyway :/

I completely agree. Facetious said something to me awhile ago that really stuck with me "Cops, I realized about four years ago that I was never going to do or make any dramatic changes in the world". I thought about what he said and started thinking to myself, I truly and honestly believe that I will never stop Global Warming, Cure Aids, or solve any other problems of our time. I know for a fact that Sheryl Crow or even Bono wont solve these problems, and its foolish to think they will. I think that if people dedicate themselves to these issues on a large scale then you may see some differences, but for now the numbers aren't there and maybe a bit of public awareness wouldn't hurt.
