I live in San Diego and you can called me a spoiled Californian due to the weather Anyways, UC schools are really good places to go, UCSD is known for its biology and science fields though. And I wouldnt be worrying about crime around UCSD unless you go to downtown San Diego, which isnt even that bad and it's not very close to campus. Also, San Diego is about 2 1/2 hours from Los Angeles counting traffic and if you dont drive like a maniac :P

Yep, impossible to get on, it's even closed 6 months out of the year to make new changes. I even understand it's difficult for a professional to get on there, unless you're a previous winner or somewhere in the top 20 off the world, it's really hard to get on it outside of the Masters week.

There are other courses that are hard to get on, but not impossible, Augusta National really is like impossible to get on.

Louisiana:

-Everything is cheaper (gas, housing, etc)
-Centenary, LSU, Tulane
-Depending on location, you're close to a ton of big cities. Where I live (northwest louisiana) I'm a 3 hour drive from Dallas/Ft. Worth, Baton Rouge, and New Orleans.
-New Orleans. If you're looking for chicks... New Orleans.

Arkansas is an all around nice place to live if its the north west. They have the hogs there. Not to mention with a city of 200000 thousand its quite the party seen. There definately are some hot girls here. Not to mention carrie underwood only lived a few hours away. But there are girls that look better then that here. We sometimes get snow, but about 6 months of the year is nice 75 degree weather. I lived in arizona and the 115 degress 6 months was horrible. Arkansas was a nice change except we dont got the sports teams yet.

I can't necessarily vouch for the NOVA/DC area. It'd be a great place to raise a kid or do something responsible, but to be a student, it's not the best place, mostly because of the high of shit cost of living contrasted with the lack of unique, cool stuff to do to balance it out. Tons of traffic, nowhere cheap to live within walking distance of anything cool (there are some exceptions, my gf just got a room in an apartment in Rosslyn 5 mins from the metro for 500 a month including utilities) and a ton of soccer moms and shit. I'd rather live here than a lot of places but it's not like the greatest or anything.
