Anyone else completely blown away by this new show on HBO? Its quirky and philosophical....and mysterious and tragic while being hopeful and inspiring at the same time. I'm not sure if it's because I'm from California, and I've been so heavily exposed to the Southern California surfing and skateboarding culture from the 80s and 90s....but I find the material extremely relatable.
There is just so much about this show that is top shelf---the directing is excellent the way that they are developing the new characters...the cinematography is excellent the way that they give a vintage/retro feel to the show, while still making it seem modern...the acting is awesome with a great cast of veteran actors...and the writing is awesome.
Definitely worth checking out.
