Yep, you'll no longer look like a fool for actually moving the complete controller trying to steer.

It's tough for me to not think about this stuff on a daily basis. Not only do I stare at daily numbers for over 200 carriers to see how they are performing but everyone in the company receives these emails of press clips for the telecommunications industry. Any time the word BlackBerry or iPhone has been mentioned in an article, we get an email. I think there were a couple questions in RIM's quarterly conference call last night regarding the iPhone and the response was that there won't be a lot of overlap in the target customers so neither company is really worried. If anyone on this board does buy an iPhone I'd be interested to hear how much they like it.

On a side note my company's stock went up $30 yesterday and a 3 way stock split was announced which makes me feel like an idiot for not buying any (even though they don't offer a stock plan for employees). On the bright side I suppose out CEO can up his offer for the Nashville Predators by another $50 million now.

I know the Wii has a motion sensor, I was only saying that it wasn't only the Wii that has it, but that the ps3 also has it, not to the same extent but still, Wii isn't completely special on this.

The PS3 has it but in the most god awful way. The Wii controller was designed to simplify things. The PS3 decided to keep their 12 button + DPad + Two Analogue sticks and add motion sensing to that. Unless you're creating a flight simulator there's no need for all that to make a good game.

Why do you think games need to make us sit through an hour tutorial phase where they need to explain the intricate details of every button and what you can do in a game that lasts about 6. Even the more complicated Wii games are easy enough to pick up and play.

Because of the cost and the lack of business functionality like Eric said it's gonna flop quickly. I don't think Apple knows who's their demographic on this one, 600$ is well outside the price range for most gadget people, much less mainstream techies. Plus I think in 2007 most people know one of the most stupidest thing you could do to yourself financially is sign a cell phone contract.

I was at the mall the other day and decided to check out the phone at the Apple store. There were tons of people crammed in the store standing around a table with around 10 iphones hooked up. Even more were waiting in line to play with the phone.

I got to mess around with one for a minute, pretty easy to do what you want. However I didnt get to try out the Youtube thing, I really wanted to see the screen move as I moved the phone. I dont know if it was programmed this way or what but it wouldnt open anything that uses the internet, like youtube, the map thing, or weather, because the battery was low. I would try to open up a program and it would close saying "battery remaining: 15%." I thought that was really annoying.

A tiny surprise: the phone vibrates for a second when it's hooked up to its charger.
