Downside of vista are the available sound cards that have Vista drivers that actually work 100% with the software of the soundcard.
THX is history btw.
I still have Vista running on my system at home, but with no soundcard anymore...I play my sound through my Laptop that sits next to my PC now. I couldn't give up XP's when it came to the drivers on the Audigy card I have. I am holding out for Vista Creative Cards that have outboard midi and F.O./Coax Dig./RCA inputs.May your shit come to life and kiss you on the face.

My work machine has one of the semi-current gen X-Fi cards in it (has all the inputs you mention), running Vista. Seems to work just fine--I use it to do a lot of digital transfer from a Nagra.Originally posted by 404 Not Found View PostDownside of vista are the available sound cards that have Vista drivers that actually work 100% with the software of the soundcard.

I know that they work..the X-Fi's that is and they have beta drivers for the Audigy, but most functions still do not work. I utilize my midi, and dig inputs on my Audigy system too often to give up on them at this moment. I am waiting for Creative to upgrade this so I can run it on Vista and utilize the midi & f.o/coax dig inputs most of all.Originally posted by ConcreteSchlyrd View PostMy work machine has one of the semi-current gen X-Fi cards in it (has all the inputs you mention), running Vista. I can't speak from experience on the MIDI interface, but I've used the coax digital inputs on the X-Fi as a sort of hacked AES/EBU interface (recording chain is Nagra DII -> [AES/EBU to coax dig cable] -> X-Fi). All of this on Vista.Originally posted by 404 Not Found View PostI know that they work..the X-Fi's that is and they have beta drivers for the Audigy, but most functions still do not work. Well I haven't really downloaded anything for my Mac but some Widgets Mac website has some pretty cool ones.
A few years back I had windows blinds on (I think) and use a "Mac" theme.
Also I have used yahoo widgets on my PC but found it to be somewhat unstable ( might have been because my desktop is a little old)"Bilbo" SS is a sophisticated chat channel, nothing more.

Depends on the size of your desktop. If your desktop is big enough, it's feasibleOriginally posted by Superted View PostWhat's the point in desktop widgets... do any of you actually see your desktop long enough because I sure don't.
