WoW gets lame when you realize how it's built to be repetetive and as much as a time sink as possible.

Everything is the same, hidden between different models and different numbers. Kill 20 boars to do a quest, kill 20 bears to do a quest, kill 20 boars for them to drop 5 items to do a quest etc. etc. etc.

my roommate played wow like crazy, he's in some guild thats like second best in WoW... he's been trying too get me into it, but I just refused (I mean he didn't exactly fit the description of the nerd: he was hella good with the guitar, hardcore rocker, pretty good at surfing and skating and shit) just couldnt get over the fact that he was such a big ass wow freak. he ended up getting one guy who lived across from us, and one of my suitemates into it, and they been addicted.
