I was actually thinking about getting a FF-related tattoo, not something like that tho. :P

The retrospective is nice. They really have made some points a normal player like me didn't even notice while playing through the series. It also brings back a lot of good memories and makes me want to start playing the games again (not that I haven't done it before, many times) and try to dig out more and more secrets and finish the games 100%. Also it made me a bit sad and wistful, because I noticed how long I've been playing the games and grown with the series, so it kinda reflected memories of my real life around the times I first played the games. Oh, childhood~. :wub:

And since there's conversation going on about the best FF, I'll jump in aswell. Tho choosing the best isn't an easy task for me since I keep changing my point of view all the time and I simply love every of them (except FF X, I hate it. It shouldn't even be considered to be a FF). FF VII and VIII have the coolest characters, and the best storyline along with IX. I've always loved lovestories and these games gave it to me.
VIII was too easy tho, leveling up took no time at all and getting full GF abilities was an easy task, noticing that at the very first worldmap beach you'd get 6AP per battle. I liked the junction system a lot tho, even tho some say it sucked ass. Another negative side in this game were the Guardian Forces that were just too long. Anyone loved using Eden after the first time? I didn't. That bitch took too long to hit and it didn't even cause THAT much damage anyways. The characters were great. Well, Squall was. The cool guy everyone, including me, wanted to be. Also the card game in VIII was great. I spent hours and hours hunting player and GF cards.
VII had it's materia system which was cool. It gave players a lot of chance to make different combos and strategies. It also had the most sinister and coolest villain in the history gaming; Sephiroth. I liked the story in it a lot too and playing the game for the first time, Aeris' death was a tough blow in the young gamers' face. Also at that time the graphics were simply awesome, tho I've thought so with every FF.
The best thing about IX was definitely the Chocobo breeding. Hunting thos Chocobo treasures was time consuming, challenging yet fun. First you had to try numerous times to dig up a chocograph, or a piece, from the ground and then go treasure hunting, just to notice you don't yet possess a Chocobo of required level or and airship to get to the treasure island.

I could write more but I think I already bore those that took the time and read through to death and beyond so I'll just stop here. I'm also too lazy to continue right now.

Been playing 7 again a la emulator- man, what a great game. I still don't know if I like 8 more but I sure love them both. These retrospectives usually make me want to play the game again but the one for 9 really didn't do anything for me, although Vivi will always be my favorite character (who remembers my avatar?). I thought the one for X would be online now, should be a good one, although it's not up yet. What are your rankings?

If I had to choose I would say: 8/7,6,10,12,5,9,4,11 (haven't played the others).

11 is some piece of shit slapped together with some FF items in it.

Final Fantasy X was all about tidus whining from start til the end, I've never had a better sleep medicine before, the only funny thing with the game was the blitzball!
