    - 5 megapixel (bye bye digital camera - for the "pub" pics and those alikes)
    - GPS (Pretty fucking handy I must say. In 30 secs you know the directions).
    - Pretty good sound speakers plus a normall output for headphones. (bye ipod)
    - usb (fast data transfers)
    - Can access internet (WLAN) and therefore browse. (porn availible even at public toilets)
    - You can also call people with it. (pretty cool gadget on it)

    The all in one wonder.

I hate the way companies make totally compromised, shitty products when trying to merge markets.

      A computer is for home.
A mobile phone is for when you're out and you need to contact someone.
A laptop is when you need to do work on the move, or are too boring to live a life without entertainment 24/7.

You're just holding on to what you were used to. When I grew up, we didn't have mobile phones. So a phone was what you did when you were home. When you're out, you don't need to phone.. that was the thought. Well, here we are. You saying a mobile is only to call makes me laugh

re-define 'mobile phone' perhaps? I love mobile all-in-ones devices.

When I get out, and I forgot to print/search directions for, example, a specific restaurant, all i do is pick my device out and calculate the route as I'm walking/ biking. I don't have to bring an extra map with me. Explain me how you could hate that?

Why would a personal computer/internet be for home? Example. We're at a different city and want to know in the bar what the latest train home is. How could you hate having internet next to your balls then?

Too many practical examples of course.. it's endless

I just bought this a few days ago. It isn't a phone but does almost everything else, video (Xvid/Divx with no transcoding, mp4 ect..), Mp3, organizer, mic, AV out, usb 2.0, FM radio.

Tell me Seal, what's so bad about a map? And I bet your phone company charges huge prices for online map searches.

This is the premise that breeds laziness and non-pragmatic behaviour. It's all about last minute decisions at high prices.

There's nothing wrong with a map. thats not my point.
You would carry a map, printed out paper of timescedule, phone, camera, ipod, etc. And i'dd carry one device. it's just combining technology so you dont end up with so many lose devices.
and GPS is free. you pin-point your location thrue satelites. car's have that navigation too, they're not hooked up the internet either.

and the other. the bar+train was an example. In that reference,
the mobile phone is also a last minute dicision. you could do it at home for cheaper.
so the point is, you can access information whereever you are/need it. i dont see how that is not handy. its not that you have to do it. you can if you wish.

Plain and simple, the internet is THE way to obtain information. If you have it on you, it is simply a problem solver. I never worry, and I'm never bored.

Anyone who says otherwise is just not rich enough.

I posted this from my helio for spite.

coming out soon with a 16 gig? rumorville anyway
This was a textbook example of price skimming if I have ever seen one. Even after getting hosed by Apple I bet 90% of the idiots who bought an iPhone in the first couple of weeks will do the same thing when iPhone2 comes out. It's never hard to seperate a fool and his money.

I was under the impression that many carriers made you pay a fee for GPS. Am I mistaken?

Could be in the states? But not here.

                          Legally,
We pay to use the software, in other words, the map provider (tomtom, route66, etc).

I admit, I talked most shit about the iPhone when it came out because it has no warranty and shit like that. I just had the phone in my hands for 10 minutes and really, it can be a life saver. For example, if I didn't have computer access at my school in class.. I could take the iPhone out, go on the internet, to my email and just write my essay down on paper. I forgot my flash drive at home and didn't print the paper and my friend had an iPhone, but yeah I didn't write it down since I had a computer sitting across from me.

I really get annoyed by noob scalpers.. I posted this all over craigslist when the iphones were debuting... I got flagged so many times I lost count... by these idiots trying to rip people off.

                              Here's one post:

                              ---------------------
iPhones are STILL available all over the VA/MD/DC area. DO NOT BUY FROM THESE SHADY PEOPLE ON CRAIGSLIST.

Sure they will sell it to you but they will be laughing on the way to the store to waste YOUR hard earned money...

Here's the link to Apple's online checker: http://www.apple.com/retail/iphone/

THEY ARE ALL OVER DC! DON'T GIVE UP YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY FOR AN IPHONE WHEN YOU CAN GET IT FOR AS LOW AS $300 ONLINE OR $499 AT A STORE LOCALLY.

Buy an iphone for much cheaper then you can get yourself a used laptop or some other toy...

PPS: These scammers keep trying to shut me and others down by flagging our posts... DON'T PAY THESE PEOPLE.

                              -------------------

Also (and I can't find it at the moment) Where a guy messaged all the scalpers in his city (I think Chicago or something) but he emailed or called all of them and told them to meet him in a certain store near him because he wanted to buy a few iphones. Once a large group was there getting pissed off because noone showed up, he went down himself pretending to be another person trying to sell an iphone and listened to them whine a bunch. How fun would that be? Then to top it off, he posted the whole story on craigslist the next day.

I enjoyed watching craigslist .. the people were confident asking up to 2000$ the first day for a single iphone... which quickly dropped to almost retail value a few days later.
