It follows the time proven TW forums formula, someone posts a patriotic pro-country (or pro-religion, pro-political system, etc.) comment. Others rush forward to shove it up the ass of the original poster in some perverted (and unsupported) logic that their country has less assholes. Almost the entire planet was sympathetic to America in the wake of 9/11. The problem is the event has been hijacked by pro-war politikers and made into a huge "with us or against in the war in Iraq!" PR event. Even you mentioned in this thread how you served in Iraq, etc. It has nothing to do with Iraq. The sooner you people get that through your skulls the better off we will all be. More people died as a result of your ill concieved, poorly executed, utterly unrelated and totally immoral war in Iraq than died when the twin towers were brought down. Most of the world is against the senseless war in Iraq and we aren't going to just stay quite about that just because some Americans act like small children with their "with us or against us" reasoning. So you can go ahead and fight in Iraq yourselves. You are lucky your allies are doing all the hard work in Afghanistan, the only country that actually had anything to do with 9/11 in the first place. If there weren't 200,000 or however many American troops in Iraq right now maybe we could actually patrol Afghanistan sufficiently and shut down all the terrorist camps operating freely in and around the Afghan/Pakistan boarder.

Toronto is a little bit closer to New York than Texas and whatever redneck town Lizard Fuel lives in. I also happen to work out of the CSIS building in downtown Toronto, which was a target of a foiled bomb plot a few months back. Not to mention the CN Tower which would probably take out much of the downtown core.

What I am asking is that people not use the lives of those lost to justify this war. And to start acting like human fucking beings again.

Just curious, does your forum configuration force you to read ALL threads? If not, which part of the thread title mislead you to think that this was not going to be nationalist? If this kind of thread bothers you, perhaps just skip over them?

People need to stop and consider what we have in common and stop trying to drive the differences we have as a wedge. Stop and consider our place in this world. Consider how we are all interconnected. Biologically we are all connected to each other (i.e. DNA), chemically we are all connected to the earth (your mass comes from the elements on earth) , and atomically we are all connected to the universe ( matter and atoms come from ‘star stuff’).
