I can understand that the officers want to protect themselves but their first duty is to protect the people, especially anyone they have or attempt to put in custody. Gen said an investigation is underway so hopefully that will clear things up and maybe change policy regarding reasonable use of these weapons. Registering compliance from a suspect who is already detained is still in my opinion not a valid use for them.

Metal, first that was pretty fucking rude and not called for. Conc isn't anything like that. There are people like the UCLA kid who believe making a scene and interrupting public functions is completely ok and is covered under free speech so they'll be annoying cunts to whomever they wish.

I'm going to let my inner Dennis Leary take over for a minute, cause he's been stirring.
You see, when you live in Los Angeles, you get to see a lot of high speed pursuits on TV. I don't know how prevalent they are where you are from, but I am under the presumption that we lead the nation in them. If I am wrong, that's okay, it doesn't matter. When you see the end of one of these chases the cops come up with their guns out and the suspect kindly lays down on the ground, puts his hands behind his back and then they cart him off to jail. Why? Cause he doesn't want to get his ass beat.
Now, there are the few occasions where a guy will run. When the guy runs they will have their ass taken down to the ground. Usually at this point the guy then complies with police. Why? Cause he was thrown on the ground, he doesn't wanna get his ass beat. But, then there's the third stage and this stage is where a lot of people start complaining.
Back in the day when you did something wrong and acted like a dumbass in front of authority figures, you got beat with a stick and thrown in the back of a van. If you watch that lovely YouTube video it's really good at showing only 1/4th of the story. No leadup, no follow through. Just the tazer, which is good if you wanna make people believe what you want to believe.
Now, back to the real world, where there is logic and consequences for your own actions, this guy starts running around, flailing his arms, pushing the Cops, wrestling with them, swinging elbows it appeared. The cop then goes "You need to comply" "You need to comply with this" "Sir, you are resisting arrest" in a very calm, but stern tone. The problem was that this dumbass kid was too busy screaming and crying to pay attention. Lastly the cop said that they're going to tazer the kid if he doesn't stop kicking and fighting back.
That's what happens when you act like a dumbass, you get tazered. No, I don't feel sorry for him.
But, instead of tazers, you know what they should have? You know those big hunting rifles they have that the bust out when a Bear goes on the run? They should get a guy with a big tranquilizer gun and pump the kid up with a few rounds. Then we can all watch and laugh as the kid runs around until he passes out and then wakes up in prison. You think he was crying then? I'd love to see him crying when he wakes up behind bars not knowing wtf happened.
This kid should take a note from Chris Rock: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H_QcDK4LUFk

Police won't "beat your ass". They are trained in detaining people. Causing collateral damage as in kicking or punching or otherwise causing bodily harm on a suspect is not acceptable.
The issue with the tazer is that it's causing pain and escalates the situation because using it in this manner does not put the guy on the ground as it does using it from some distance. If a police officer started kicking you you would either defend yourself or attempt to escape, it's human nature.
While I agree with Conc we weren't there it is very clear in the video that he was detained on the ground and under control.

I watched the better quality video, he asked a question and was immediately grabbed and taken away, that's fucked up. If we was loud, ignorant or said something overwhelmingly offensive then I would understand if they needed to pull him away.
There was four cops if they wanted to get those cuffs on, they could have. Tasering someone who is pissed off is just going to make them more pissed off, it wasn't necessary.
ps, what's skull and bones?
1) He wasn't told why he was being taken away
2) He asked a question, this isn't communist Russia or Nazi Germany, you should be able to question authority
3) The use of the taser was not necessary, he was pinned down and the cops could have easily got him into those cuffsit makes me sick when i think of it, all my heroes could not live with it so i hope you rest in peace cause with us you never did

Okay people are missing the point. Everything from what he was asking to why he was escorted out is extraneous to what the problem is: being tased. Let's stop confusing the issues.
I don't think he should have been escorted out in the first place and I don't blame the guy for not wanting peoples' hands all over him. Yes he did start to flip out but he wasn't under arrest at that point so it's kind of hard to resist when you aren't under arrest. The point is the cops used excessive force, especially with tasing him while he was pinned down. It matters very little what he was saying - nor does it really matter why he was escorted out except to figure out at what point he was under arrest.

I don't put too much stock in that shit. Skull and Bones is basically an elite secret society, very much like a college fraternity, for rich kids. They can't say shit because the society has shit on them. Same deal with your buddy who won't tell you the secrets of his fraternity but a little more serious. But let the conspiracy theorists go wild.

Judging from video at different angles of the incident, the cops just grabbed his arm and tried to escort him out. The guy obviously felt inclined to continue his annoying tirade so he was resisting arrest, which cops can use against him when they use force. I mean, the guy was just asking to get his ass beat. So therefore I agree with the cops in how they handled him initially, but the tasering just makes this a bad situation. It's police brutality and if I were him, I would sue the shit out of the cop who tasered me.
