  • HP Blackbird 002. Awesome gaming computer from HP.

HP bought Voodo a year ago, and now they're finally making an awesome gaming computer.

    http://h20435.www2.hp.com/

I'm thinking of having this machine when they open for configuration of the hardware. The price will be around 7-8$ k'ish with max specs.

Overpriced? Yes, still not that expensive though, and the machine is fucking cool.

    Worth a look.

Case looks nice but anyone who spends $8k on a home computer is an idiot with too much money.

Looking at the parts, someone could put that together with a custom case for about 3k atm. In 4-6 months, you will probably be able to scratch $1,500 off of that if made on your own. I really don't understand these companies trying to appeal to the type of nerds who probably know how to make their own computers.

They also try to appeal to those 30-40somethings who like technology and games, but lack the knowledge to build or upgrade their own computer.

I'd love to see someone put together with the same specs for 3k $. The price will drop, but that happens with any computers. And most people knows that high end computers drops the most in price.

It all depends on the money situation I guess, 8k $ may sound a lot for some of you.

It doesn't depend on your money situation, it depends on if you have any common sense. There's no need to spend past $2k to get a beast of a computer, much less $8k. You could spend the extra money you're wasting on an assortment of other shit (cough haircut cough) - but since you have no problem spending that much, it's probably not your money that you're spending in the first place.
My father in law was telling me over Thanksgiving about this amazing bartender at some bar he frequented who could shake a martini and fill it to the rim with no leftovers and he thought it was the coolest thing he'd ever seen. I then proceeded to his home bar and made four martinis in one shaker with unfamiliar glassware and a non standard shaker and did the same thing. From that moment forward I knew he had no compunction about my cock ever being in his daughter's mouth.

You won't get a so called beast machine for a lousy 2¤$, but it's coming from a short little black guy from the ghetto too, so I'm not that surprised. I guess 2k$ is a lot for someone like you.

It's still a nice machine, only thing I'm curious about is the shipping price..

And it's my money, been some years since mom gave me money at all .

And it's stupid to buy the bleeding edge of computing. Ridiculously stupid.

                        Too much.

Wait a bit or make it yourself.

Sometimes buying top of the line does make sense... your case isn't one of them. I bought myself an m1710 XPS laptop this summer, it was worth it, I live between two cities, two apartments, I travel a lot. I also make a lot of money.

But to spend that much on a desktop seems silly. You can upgrade whenever you feel like, get the ALMOST top of the line, you know, the system that was top of the line four weeks ago and dropped in price by 30% now... then when new fancy whateveryouwanted gets cheaper, upgrade as you need... IF you need any time soon. You'll find that not only did you save money but everything you wanted to do.. like max resolutions with 4x anti aliasing on wicked cool games still works.. you can do your CAD or flash design or video editing or whatever it is you planned to do and even a 2-3k .. formerly top of the line-4 weeks ago system is going to work just fine. And if you want a cool looking case, buy a 75$ one and install it on your system...

But seriously. Wait. If you absoloutely can't handle a slightly less expensive system... still wait... eg: the lappy I bought was normally priced for around 3700$.. I got it doubly discounted over a holiday sale and saved about 1400$ a little over a third of the price off... because I waited a little bit.

After looking more closely at the system...

Depending on which model you get my computer has higher specs. And it's mobile. And it costs a lot less. Gives me a warm and fuzzy inside.... but also..Makes me think you are getting more ripped off than I originally thought. Of course I didn't see the different pricing schemes and such.. just remembering you quoted 8k or something... Anyways..I think you should save some money and go with something else. I figure any website that needs 30 seconds to load up the flash to try and sell me their product isn't for me.

                            Pris: 27.000 inkl. mva.

Just looking at the processor, and the graphics card at 7900 GTX, maybe the more expensive 7950 GTX, how that it be more powerful than the one I linked too? When they let you configure the hardware, I'm gonna stuff 2x NVIDIA GeForce 8800 ULTRA 756MB into it, with Quad-Core 3.0GHz.

And I don't see the point of having a "MOBILE" machine at 4kg. That isn't much mobile anymore. The worst is seeing a nerdy kid run around with a gigantic laptop thinking he's awesome. You forgot to mention that your laptop lasts if you're lucky MAX 2 hours, so much for a mobile super laptop huh.

The point of having a laptop is to have one you can easily carry around and use. And right now laptops isn't close to desktop machines hardware wise, maybe in some years, but not now. More powerful laptop = increase in size. Loses the whole point.

And to liquid black, in the other thread, you're talking about getting a new machine with the awesome geforce 8500 GT. It costs 550+ kr the 256 mb version, while the 512 is around 600 kr. A GeForce 8800GTX 768MB goes for 5k kr.

Obviously both of us got different views on what's a lot and not, it's just annoying to have a kid like you running and whine cause I'm going to spend more than you. I'm fully aware that it's overpriced, and I already said it in the first post, stop crying about it.

                            EDIT: typo

You may be aware that it's overpriced, but you're simply looking at a slightly bigger number and going "gee, that's worth 8x the cost of something that's almost as good." (And I really doubt that you'd be able to actually perceive the difference.)

That's retarded. If you had half a clue about what you were actually buying, you could recognize that and not come off as a complete idiot.
