It's quite common in society to connect the disrespect of one's opinion with the one who makes it obviously. I strongy disagreed with your opinion and thus lashed out. This in no way means that I disrespect you as a person, but when I'm opposed to the opinion, I write as If I'm opposed to the person to better relate a point. If I were writing a paper I would write in the style of Kolar or dug, but for a discussion like this I frankly don't care if my laments sound 'uneducated' as this is a discussion where spelling and what not arn't critical to authorize one's intelligence.

On that notion, I'm not the biggest fan of the 'high and mighty' approach to writing where exact spelling and extensive vocabulary outside one's norm is used. It doesn't make you 'appear' intelligent but rather arrogant. If there's supportive elements I'll take it that the fellow had a point, not that he's anymore intelligent than the rest of the bunch purely by his wording.

Anyway, by your thought, I'm an idiot in supporting those on the ground as they are where I'm not. I respect them for their service, not to the cause, but rather that they have the courage to fight where others can't, and can serve where others will not regardless of the circumstances. I'm thankful there isn't a draft and I thank them for taking my 'place' in the field in serving my country through the rough.

In laymans, I saw you as disrespecting them in connection to politics which I did not support and tried to disconnect. They are there; you are not. I should be much angrier as you just insulted my friend for whom I wish to rest in peace, not in criticism, but I've sated that as that would flame this up as you intended by that remark. Disassociate from politics just for a moment; now imagine that there were a draft and somehow you were opted out because someone went in your place. How would you feel?

'ha ha sucker, you're an idiotic nationalist fuck?'

      now what if he died?

I know that they are well paid and voluntary, but you cannot deny the fact that they are there in your place by some fashion, which is respectable. If you can feel no connection, imagine if nobody volunteered to join regardless of money (impossible, but so is a world without soldiers). Where would that government organization go to for bodies? You.

And where do you base this of off? I might very well fight if my country were under direct attack (for example, WWII the invasion of Germany). But I am not gonna fight in Afghanistan just because maybe there is a slight possibility that possibly 1 guy who is currently residing there might one day maybe strap himself up with a bomb and then possibly maybe blow himself up in a place that could or could not be inside the Netherlands at a place I might possibly at that moment be.
Maybe God was the first suicide bomber and the Big Bang was his moment of Glory.

You don't get the point, I do not support war. It might be against the nature of our kind, but I am against war.
If there would be a draft, I would refuse and go to jail for that, there would be someone who has to go in my place and he might as well die.

Farscape asked if I respect people if they would defend my country, I did not answer that question.

Do I need to put everything from my point of view? Isn't that real arrogance? The people who would attack our country probably have their point of view and reasons to attack the ground I live on.
I think that our actions mainly provoke these actions and I don't believe I will ever have a harder time in my life if I refuse to fight.

IE: This one time I got into an argument with a classmate, and he got so worked up that he punched me on the eye. I told him to punch the other eye too.
He didn't want to, but in the end I convinced him to take another punch.
I didn't complain, but how can I respect a person that resorts to violence?

erm, I meant regardless of the country's circumstance. I say that with retention in the area of questionable circumstances, not outlandish.
