Can you back that statement up, or are you just talking out of your ass? Because every homosexual I've ever met has had straight parents (most of them with strong religious home lives), yet all of the people I know with gay parents have turned out to be lady killers.

The whole argument against homosexuality b/c of Christian values is pretty much a load imo (Ronn). Even though I'm a pretty strong Catholic, I think my English teacher has put it in the right words: "If it is love, whether it be between two of the same sex or not, then God will see it". Granted, Catholicism doesn't really support this ideology. I find it important to form individual views that don't always comply with the doctrine. However, more often than not, most of my views tend to fall in line with Catholic teachings b/c that is just my personality/ideology.

What really bugs me about some gay people though is how some tend to force their way of life upon me. It's cool to have love for each other and what not, but to force support for their lifestyle annoys me.

edit: I know I somewhat contradict myself but thats pretty much b/c I have mixed emotions about the general subject.

Does that mean that people who like SM have parents who like SM? Does that mean because you for instance like blond dumb girls (not saying you do) your mother is a dumb blond girl (not saying she is, example) and your father liked her for that, thus passing that on to you?

I think what he's trying to say (or at least what I got from it) is that certain parenting types and actions can find their way into a child's psyche and make them more susceptible to homosexuality.

Either way, he's still wrong as there is no scientific evidence to suggest that the parents have any more powerful of a role on a child's development sexually than any other factor. After all, who's to say it isn't genetic, or ordained by God? Those are both just as viable solutions.

Therein with lies the problem, we have no one, true, definitive explanation. I'm perfectly fine with leaving it unexplained (and judging by most of the responses in this thread, so are my fellow TWers), but it saddens me to see so much ignorant disdain for people that simply want to live their lives just like the rest of us.

edit: I forgot to add the most likely situation of them all; they choose to be gay. If that's the case I still don't see where anyone would get caught up in fighting against another's rights. I guess some people still feel the need to feel superior to others.

don't pretend like you're basing your beliefs on christian values because you're acting like a complete douche. although the bible suggest that homosexuality is a choice rather than an orientation and God is displeased by it, Jesus himself said that the first two and greatest commandments were to love God and love your neighbor. Telling people they are disgusting, perverted, and damned for hell may be true, but it certainly isn't loving.

keep in mind there are things that you have done that are disgusting and perverted, and then read romans 3:23 and romans 6:23.

Nah the only ones with no opinions are the ones that dont stand up and say that gays are discusting sex perverts. Wether he decides to be gay or whatever is his own choice, and let him life that choice... if one decides to be a homophobe, let him be that homophobe and don't give him the pleasure of arguing his believes.

I never chosen to be heterosexual, so to me it feels pretty bold to claim someone who isn't heterosexual actually made a rational decision to be homosexual.

On the other hand. You could, from religious point of view, claim that someone has to face his own challenges God has put up for him. Therefor one might have to suppress his 'nature'.

As you see, I ""th the natural part... Since it happens in nature, what I ment to say was that it is different compared to the standard.
So what I basicly was saying is that homosexuals are different from the general folk. In other words they are not "normall"... but the same goes for a lot of things, like people with the syndrome of down for instance...
(Isn't it fun how I compare gay people to people with the syndrome of down? <_< )
I'm sure that homosexual people think about this the same way at one point... Since people see being straight has normall (it's the standard), they find it normall to be atracted to girls if you're a male and to boys if you're a female. So at the point a homosexual male for instance feels attracted to males, he must feel "not normall"... So in other words it is not them being wrong, but it is actually the perception of "how the world should be" within people that isn't portrayed right.
