relax, Big Movies have tons of dusty old scripts to bust out.

Across the street from my house, as we speak, they are filming a TV show called "queen size" ... god help us all.

              2009's a bit much, I think it's ball-parked somewhere around Jan/Feb next year.

"Hosted by Claude Brodesser-Akner, The Business looks deep inside the business of entertainment. A half-hour of thoughtful and irreverent dialogue with Hollywood's top deal-makers, filmmakers, moguls, artists and agents, The Business will clue you in on who's making pop culture pop and what's keeping Hollywood's Blackberries juicy."

                http://www.kcrw.com/etc/programs/tb

Things will be affected in order of (length of) production schedules:
                Late night talk show (immediately)
                scripted shows(end of year)
                movies (2009)

More interesting discussion in the podcast.

some of the scripted shows are ending as immediately as this week though. then with shows like lost that haven't started being shown yet, they might not even be able to show the entire season (if the strike gets settled soon enough).

Looks like the guild of directors and screen actors may join in by June 2008. This is going to be drawn out for quite awhile.

Well Prisonbreak for instance is on a break until January after Monday, and I believe that Heroes has like 2 or 3 episodes left that have already been written. Those are the 2 I know something about.

About the late night talkshows, are the people presenting (John Stewart, Jimmy Kimmel, Jay Leno) on strike too? Or are they just not creative enough to come up with their own scenarios? If they are not, go find some hosts that can actually think up some stuff for themselves.
Maybe God was the first suicide bomber and the Big Bang was his moment of Glory.

you should really look into how those shows are made... then you'd understand :P

it certainly isn't the creativity factor (for some of them), but i do know that jay leno is not crossing the picket line. i've heard that nbc is in talks with getting guest-hosts for leno's spot specifically. other than that, i know that stewart and colbert are in support of the strike, i'm not aware of whether or not they refuse to cross or not.

the best news that i've heard from this debacle is the possibility of prime-time price is right.
