infowars makes me slightly skeptical about their site

Personal word to any parent that refuses to get their child's vaccination's:

Just shut the fuck up and get your kids the shot, stop acting like the government is trying to control you with immunizations. Take the tin foil hat off and go to the doctor. jesus.
it makes me sick when i think of it, all my heroes could not live with it so i hope you rest in peace cause with us you never did

But I don't understand everything about medicine and refuse to educate myself, Cops! How am I supposed to just comply with The Man's wishes when I prefer to remain ignorant and insecure?!

On a serious note, I agree with Zeebu that The Man should pay for the vaccinations. But that's a whole other argument.
Music and medicine, I'm living in a place where they overlap.

Then do what Heavensent does, educate your kids yourself and hope the outcome isn't a religious pot smoking fanatic.

I'll be the first to say I don't mind Heavensent, I know our politics and religious views differ but he doesn't really go at me by pointing out his obvious flaws. Every time I express my opinion he doesn't get mad, it's like I can't get him mad unless someone else has got him going. I guess I'm not that mean with my judgments. Maybe if I added a touch or crudeness and a dash of atheist superiority he might get mad.

But the choice is not only 'Get Shot or go to jail". People can home school, people can move to another place/country.
or they can stay in this country and fight to keep the rights they have always had and the country is built upon. considering the number of kids who get autism from vaccines it doesn't seem fanatical to question their usefulness.

this presupposes that you can vaccinate a disease which does not exist. the reason the last flu epidemic killed so many was because it was a new mutation which was immune to pre-existing medicines. you cannot vaccinate for a disease which does not exist...

I'm also pretty sure the comparison between pandemic influenza and HEP B/ chickenpox is a bit skewed.

So the Flu shot each year is just a placebo? I'll admit I am not a Doctor but neither is Alex Jones. The Flu vaccine is created by guessing which strain of the virus will be popular in the coming year. subtype H5N1 is just another strain of the virus and until a pandemic does occur work is being done to prepare. Still it makes sense that the less hosts the virus has to live in and mutate (and potentially kill in the process) the better chance we have of staving off a pandemic scenario. Mass slaughtering of chickens around the world where Bird Flu pops up is not just for fun.

Edit: And the same goes for the Chicken Pox and hepatitis B shot. If you want to be in a publicly funded system like the educational system in the United States or Canada then you must ensure that you are not putting your health at risk or putting other's health at risk, mandated by real doctors without tin foil on their heads. If you disagree take it to your state or local representatives and sit it out or remove yourself from the public system. No one is holding a gun to your head, that's exactly what this is trying to prevent. Where you have no decision, where you either take the meds or else...

Agreed. They can stay, form or join a movement to change the laws or law-makers. Additionally, they can also consider civil disobedience and build a little time in jail to prove their point.

Of course with rights comes responsibilities. I am no expert regarding Public Health and the risk analysis regarding the communicable illnesses in public schools. But perhaps the greater question and concern is the litigious nature of people who will sue the school system and local/state government when their kid picks up a disease from a classmate. But suing each other is certainly another right we have in this country.
