its not infinite, its a number between 0 and 1, that cant be infinite¬¬
and yea, that logic is correct, its what you do to turn a periodic dizim into fraction(or how the hell you call it in english), take for example 0.363636363636363636....

x=0.363636363636..
100x=36,36363636...
100x-x=36
x=36/99

Add it up

1 = 0.99999999....

Put it this way....what do you have to add to 0.99999....to get to 1? You have to add 0.000000....000000001 but with an infinite number of zeros.

The real thing that's going on here is that (bar) repeating decimal is a representation of something that's not otherwise possible to write with decimals....so it does weird things.

which means,
