You're true in your assumption that people with belief are not necessarily 'stupid'. That would infer that the majority of the USA and Middle-Eastern countries population was stupid, which isn't the case. Possibly, I could argue, deluded though.
Reversely, there is a strong correlation between athiesm and intelligence.

Telcat way to bring up another thread that pins religious people against atheists, who both coincidently claim moral and intellectual superiority over the other.
I don't even need to read this thread to know it will turn into MHz blowing his mouth off about how religious people are foolish and I know Heavensent will quote the bible like some sort of twisted scholar finding gaps and holes to tie his theories together.
Stop wasting my fucking time, and get the fuck off this forum. I can't fathom why you people even defend you, seriously.

I think MHZ is living proof one does not need to be religious to be stupid/arrogant/pushy/inconsiderate/hostile.

This doesn't make any sense to me. I can guess, judging by most of your other posts, that you're only trying to get a rise out of someone like myself. In case I'm wrong: If one believes out of fear, can we really call that faith? As soon as something comes along to challenge that kind of faith, one would be free from believing in it. In the position I stand in, faith in action takes the form of love following the example set by the One I believe in. It's impossible for me to love in the midst of fear. If I believed simply out of fear my faith would collapse from within. I don't see myself as unintelligent. I can grasp all of the concepts presented by those who argue against my faith. When it comes down to it, my faith makes more sense in my life than anything else. I can see pieces that fit together in my life that are much stronger arguments for my faith than any scientist or mathematician could present.

Faith and intelligence
In contrast to common belief on this forum, there is little correlation between being faithful and being stupid. However, being excessively religious is usually a reflection of being weak.
Remember my thread about I have faith because I must? (Oo, I have to mention it simply because I am so in love with that topic  )
People who have blind faith, not because they can't do well in Maths or Physics. But because they need to believe, because they are afraid of uncertainty, they can not handle the fact there might be no meaning in their lives. They have faith because they must, because without which there is very little for them to go on.
Therefore it is very hard to convert a religious person (though it is easier to convert them from one religion to another), because that would be like to remove the life supporting system from a person who has no other means of survival.
That is also why atheists tend to be more of assh0les than religious people, simply because strong headed people tend to need less validation from other people :fear: (atheists: <3 kz  )Tags: None
