Can anyone give me feedback on IE7?

I have been using Firefox for years now, and I always loved it. But it seems to be more and more instable. It crashes, my bookmarks disappear, it's not like it's bug free.
When I pick a product, I do it because it works best for me, and I try not to have sentiments for the brand.
The previous Microsoft browsers were 'malproducts' and outdated, but IE7 seems fine to me.
I am always busy developing some website and IE7 seems to be rendering stuff a lot smoother.

PS: I don't think this is tech support, just a discussion

I tested it in Vista when it came as default. Took me about 3 days before I were back with Firefox. The grass is always greener on the other side.

IE that comes with Vista has like 2 Buttons. I even bothered looking where the 'recently closed tabs' button is hidden but this thing must be the most user unfriendly browser ever.

Maybe you guys should stop using all those shit useless Add-ons?

I use pure Firefox 2 without any add-on and its far better than IE...
Crash VERY VERY rarely (and its not because FF, I blame the sites).

Agreed, I can't relate to any problems with Firefox crashing. I honestly can't remember having a single crash caused by Firefox itself.

With so many add-ons, some are bound to be worse than others, maybe try to look for alterative add-ons for the samr feature or updates.

I have to use IE7 for a couple of sites cause they don't work correctly in firefox, and I hate the interface of IE7, the buttons and everything it's so weirdly placed and hard to find stuff.

My firefox works perfectly, and when it does crash (which is not a lot, but usually due to the website) at least it goes back to were I was before if I want too. IE7 doesn't have that.

I use Firefox, I just find it a lot more intuitive. Also, the Mouse Gestures add-on makes it so much nicer. I always try to use the mouse gestures when I am on other computers.

IE7 is a great improvement on IE6, and it's really just a matter of preference. If you like the add-ons, stick with Firefox. If you just use it with no add-ons, give IE a shot. Asking here is going to get mixed responses, your best bet is just to try IE and see if you like it.

Well, actually I don't get mixed responses. I was asking for people to post their experiences with IE7, especially from people who tried both firefox and IE -or other browsers-.

As you can see I only get responses from people using Firefox that are happy with it. I am happy with my current browser, I'm just not sure if it's the best browser anymore.

I have both browsers installed, so it would be very easy for me to swap and see for myself. I just wonder if anyone actually tried using IE7 and compared it's performance to that of Firefox.

I believe I have stated how I dislike IE7 mainly because of how it looks and user-friendliness.

agreed, IE7 takes twice as long for pages to load and FF never crashes, maybe if the ppl who have ff crashing should learn how to maintain their computer or stay off the porn

most all of us have both installed and u can almost BET on it that every FF user here has used IE and we chose to stick with FF for a reason

I use IE7, and have rolled it out to the entire company. I find that the company people who are ABM (Anything But Microsoft) do not like it, people without agendas like it fine. It works, it's stable, it has tabs, performance is ok.
