why are people so sensitive about their phone being tapped. I really dont see a good reason not to let them, i dont care if they hear me talking to friends. why should anyone care if they listen in. Unless u have something to hide it shouldnt affect you.

Hi guys. I've always wondered why so many people care that walls on buildings have to be opaque.

I mean, I don't care who sees me in my own privately-owned home, right? It's not like I'm in there sodomizing my wife or something, so why should I care if someone wants to just look in all the time. I mean, with transparent walls people could see me if I got murdered, right? And there are all those murderers out there, just running amok! Heavens to Betsy, I do believe that people seeing into my own private business all the time without proper cause to look in is the BEST THING EVER!
Music and medicine, I'm living in a place where they overlap.

Yeah that's a pretty reasonable reaction.

I think it's a too powerful tool that is easily abused. You need your privacy, we need grey area's, nobody is perfect. When you put an expensive system in place it's bound to be abused -or plainly fail-. The price will justify it for the people who abuse it.
How many terrorists are there in america, why would you have to listen into millions of households?

The Fourth Amendment's "Reasonable Expectation of Privacy"

IV. ELECTRONIC SURVEILLANCE IN COMMUNICATIONS NETWORKS

                  D. The Wiretap Statute ("Title III"), 18 U.S.C. §§ 2510-2522

Title III broadly prohibits the intentional interception, use, or disclosure (26) of wire and electronic communications unless a statutory exception applies. See 18 U.S.C. § 2511(1). In general, this prohibitions bars third parties (including the government) from wiretapping telephones and installing electronic "sniffers" that read Internet traffic.

All knowledge can be abused, and regardless of godwin's law I will use the documentation of religion as information to be abused in 40-45 as an example.

Also, some things you say on a telephone are things you also would not say in public. Having someone tap your line makes it public.

Though call, but I'd say that this actually goes to the top. However, in overall stupidity over time, Telcat is a lightyears ahead.
