Ok this happened to me at blockbuster, follow these steps:

1) go to auto zone and get turtle wax (clean/wipe scratch....does wonders)

2) get a friend to agree with you on what actually happened to the back of your truck

3) pretend like nothing happened, because well it didnt :P


Ok but if you do none of this then....

1) A big fine, and possible jail/community service (hit and run is no joke)

2) possible law suit for neglegance, insurance rate hike

3) possible suspension of drivers license

but in all honesty, if u have a common truck, try not to worry to much about it, but switch parking spaces to another side or something, less noticed the better

so if its scratched and no otehr color is near it like that of the other car he is fine, and if its university police dont worry about them, they have nothing better to do with there time than play wannabe-detective and if he wont leave u alone tell him to go fuck himself i have many times, they usually wont take u to jail, at least me they havent haha

This one guy once wasn't paying attention when he pulled out of a gas station and hit the side of my car. Low speeds and I saw him coming so I was slowed down as well, but still a dent and scratches over my side.

So I got out of my car and beat the crap out of this guy, I took my gun and shot him.. wait I am not money.

No luckily the guy immediately said it was his fault we filled out the forms and it all got payed for me. I have never hit anything (well ok, once I hit someone with my bumper with like less then 1 km an hour so no damage, not even a scratch) but when I do I will fess up to it. Besides, at least over here you have the choice to pay for yourself so your insurance doesn't go up.

You're not replacing the paint, your buffing out the other paint on top of your own. Depends on how deep it is. Someone took out a bit on the front bumper of my xB, so I buffed out most of it and then bought a little paint bottle of white paint to replace it. Good as new.

If someone saw you, then you're fucked. I know someone who did the same thing, and ended up getting a bunch of demerit points, super increased insurance and $2000 for damages because someone in the parking lot saw it and decided to be a good Samaritan.

If he would have stayed in the beginning and fessed up it would have been a lot less trouble.

Respectively disagree. First you do not have to report it to your insurance company and affect your rates. It was in a parking lot, therefore the only real issue is paying for the damages. He had multiple opportunities to find out who the owner was. He could have put a note on the windshield, he could have found out from the cop. He could have simply asked the owner to get 3 estimates and offered to pay for the lowest one, or he could have offered some cash, or he could have offered to try to fix it himself. Any decent person would be willing to work with someone if they are struggling cash-wise and let them make payments.

And who really pays for this shit long term? All of us do. It is just like shop-lifting, do we really think that the retail store loses when someone steals something? Doh, prices just go up and the rest of us cover it.

But I guess I live in this weird, old fashion world where a person has consideration towards others and feels responsible for their actions. Living in this fantasy world is one of the reasons some people don’t cheat in TW.

why would you get insurance involved if its somethign small. find the person you hit, talk to them, settle on a figure. then all you have to do is write them a check.

no insurance increases or anything and they get their car fixed on your dime. but, since you hit and ran... cops are involved and you probably cant do this anymore
