As I said, since my landlord is a fucktwat, and that there are three apartments in the house. The current DSL line is incorporated into the rent of all three apartments, and the rent is at a fragile balance. Even a small issue like me trying to change anything related to DSL in the house could warrant an irrational reaction from my landlord. I'd have to take it to court, and fight my landlord for months, to eventually win. My landlord is notorious for being dodgy, and pulling shit he isn't allowed to. I'd move out in a heartbeat if it weren't for the fact that I love my home.

If you can't understand that, just take my word for it, I can't pay for my own line, or any upgrades to my current line.

I don't know what they are doing Kolar, I just know that the line becomes good again when I pull the cord. It would be sweet to limit the port they are using, but I don't know how to do it.

Except for the landlord, and those above me that doesn't know how to share a DSL line (the line itself is pretty good, it's fast and stable, and the other neighbours I've had have been able to share it), this place is perfect.

The size and rent is good, it is in more or less the most perfect location in the city for me, one of my neighbours is a childhood friend that moved to the city with me. I'm the only one who hasn't moved since we came to this city, and I don't intend to move before I leave the city.

Just like everything else, there is a downside to this place, and it's the landlord.

Anyway, since they are newbs I think I'll just keep discing them when they are blatantly raping the line. I know this upsets them because I always hear alot of heavy footsteps above when I do it.

There are ways of prioritising router ports, it's different for different routers and different connections though (I believe.)

Report the connection to the supplier, they probably have some small print saying you can't split the connection to multiple apartments. Then they'll cut you off and your landlord will have to get all of you your own internet connections :greedy:

Barter system always works best.

I have these neighbors that live upstairs from me and they play music really really loud at times. They're Euro's and they love house/dance type music. Lots of loud bass. It's like Euro dance all night long, Boom, boom BOOM BOOM BOOM, ALL NIGHT LONG.

And no matter what I did they wouldn't stop. (talking to them wise) But then one day I had all these old papers I wanted to destroy and it would take forever to shred them, so I had the brilliant idea to burn them out on my deck in a large clay plant pot.

It was kinda smoky, but the wind was blowing it all upwards so I didn't care much.

After a bit the dance music guy from upstairs got really pissed b.c i guess the wind was blowing all the smoke right into their apartment. Their balcony door was open, I asked if they could close it untill I was done. He said they liked it open for the breeze.

I asked for a compromise.

I said I had tons of stuff I wanted to burn. But I'd be willing to stop if they didn't play their music loud at night, and a bit softer during the day.

He said that sounded good. I said I would start burning again if the music got loud again, ever.

The music has not been loud again since, and that was several months ago.


Got anything to barter with them? Like you'll stop raping their dog if they stop wasting all the bandwidth?
