PS3 won't fall in price very much I guess but the TV's always get better and cheaper so I guess it's better to wait if you isn't really in need for a TV right now. Also, the colors tend to be better with plasma technology in front of LCD. But as the situation looks right now a PS3 is a really cheap way to go if you want a Blue Ray player.

Not to mention that there isn't many releases in Blue-Ray, and there are even less that have a need for increased quality. Since Blue-Ray came out, there has been a few stores that has gotten a single shelf at max with movies.Da1andonly> man this youghurt only made me angry

I'm a dummy when it comes to converting- how many feet is 3 meters? I'm thinking of getting a 45, maybe a 47 LCD (1080p) for the apartment I'm moving into this week, the tv will be about 6,7 feet from the couch and chairs. What size should I go for? Money's not an issue, but I won't be spending over $1600 (USD).My father in law was telling me over Thanksgiving about this amazing bartender at some bar he frequented who could shake a martini and fill it to the rim with no leftovers and he thought it was the coolest thing he'd ever seen. I then proceeded to his home bar and made four martinis in one shaker with unfamiliar glassware and a non standard shaker and did the same thing. From that moment forward I knew he had no compunction about my cock ever being in his daughter's mouth.

First of all, hint, google will convert everything for you.
Type in google "10 euros to dollars" and it will show the dollars. or "7 + 4".
Or, in this case, "3 meters to feet".
About the TV, size and distance. Google "1080p vs 720p" and browse thrue some articles (read some "independent" reviews made by tv magazines and read a few forums - and keep in mind that forum-users tend to find everything great what they just bought (obviously). But comparing those two kinds of articles is usefull).
I've read this great article, unfortunally not in english, and it basicly said, in terms of "1080p vs 720p" that, in alot of cases, "less is better".
For example.
- If you are watching Standard Definition (SD) (such as TV or DVD), then watching on a big screen with a short distance will result in bad quality.
- Another fact is that most downloadable series are in 720p format (which is recorden from hd tv, which is also broadcasted with 720p) so a question could be, why 1080p? it all depends..
- Another thing is, depending on the screen size, you will hardly see the difference between 720p and 1080p. OK, with a 120 inch tv you will, but with a 40 inch? Hardly.
This chart, http://s3.carltonbale.com/resolution_chart.html , shows a diagram when you will actually notice the resolution. As you can read, with your 6 or 7 feet distance you will need about 45 inch to start to notice 1080p.
Conclusion:
If you are going to watch HD content all the time, and use ps3, and you are -very- close to the screen (or take a monster size screen), then 1080p will be better.
If you watch analoge tv alot (or digital for that mather, since that's broadcasted in 720p anyways), of play dvd's, download some series, i'dd seriously recommend 720p and use the chart (above) as a guideline.Last edited by SEAL; 02-11-2008, 07:19 AM.

Well the tv is going to be hooked up to a ps3 and a 360 with the HD-DVD attached, and videogames would be played alot on it- so yes I'm aiming for 1080p. That chart is surprising though, I didn't think you would need tv's that are huuuge to really notice the difference between 1080 and 720p.My father in law was telling me over Thanksgiving about this amazing bartender at some bar he frequented who could shake a martini and fill it to the rim with no leftovers and he thought it was the coolest thing he'd ever seen.
