Heroes sucked me in and I watched the first season online in 2-3 weeks (fairly quickly for me). After finishing season 1 I realized how much I fucking hate the show and how much I hope everyone involved in the production of it dies. Part of it was the awful ending of season 1 and the other part was the cheese and addictive factors that I previously had found charming.
Stargate, sci-fi show starring Richard Dean Anderson. Basically, it's the modern military that discovers a stargate that transports them to other worlds. You got a large universe of characters, races and enemies. It gets better for each season. 10 seasons, 43 minutes per episode, and 22 episodes per season. The series is done now, but there are coming some movies. Best thing I've ever seen.
The Shield. It's about a corrupt L.A. police strike force, it's hard to explain exactly how win this is. It can get pretty violent at times, and the characters sometimes do the stuff you hope for in series, but is labeled as not viewer friendly. It took me about 20 minutes of the first episode to see it's awsomeness.
Da1andonly> man this youghurt only made me angry
5:ph> n0ah will dangle from a helicopter ladder and just reduce the landscape to ashes by sweeping his beard across it
I still think Dexter woulda been better if he was just a regular killer, but I do like the writing and the characters, it's a really good show.
said it earlier, Daybreak and Thief are two really good minies
Pushing daisies wasn't all too bad, the one epi I saw. Feels like Amelie

However, I have a bigger problem, being an atheist for 9 years, most of it during my teenage years I've become a little addicted to masterbation. I've tried to stop and even asked God to help but I'm unable to resist the temptation and it's driving me insane with grief.

Battlestar Galactica - best show on TV, new season has yet to start.
House - smarter than the other hospital dramas and the main character is the perfect poster boy for my way of life.
Lost - not as good as the first seasons, but still draws me in every week.
Weeds - good old suburban drug dealing comedy.
Stargate Atlantis - solid spin-off from the original with likable characters and compelling story line.
The Office - not sure when new episodes will start.
Deadwood - great depiction of the real wild west. New season is a long ways off.
Survivorman - Canadian guy who gets dropped into a different inhospitable environment and has to survive for 7 days or sometimes reach civilization in 7 days. He's doing this without any safety nets.
Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares (the British version!) - Don't watch the American version of this show, shown on Fox, unless you enjoy shows like Survivor and American Idol, in which case you deserve this bastardized knock off. The British version is much more interesting.
Dexter (rewatching the 1st season right now!) Lost (they just extended season 4 an extra 5 episodes after the writer's strike, so there's going to be plenty of new Lost in the next few weeks) The Sopranos (Best show evar!!!) The Office (The American version is pretty funny, though a lot of the jokes are very American pop culture geared.) Six Feet Under (A comedy/drama show by HBO.) Entourage (I haven't seen any of the most recent seasons, but 1-3 are awesome. Plus, the episodes are usually only about 30 minutes long, unlike most of these shows.) The Wire (I believe we had a thread on these boards about this show. Everyone loved it.) South Park (Their new seasons actually have quite a few gems...Watch all three parts of Imaginationland.)
That's pretty much the TV I watch, although I watch most of those on my computer or on DVD. I thought the first season of Heroes was okay, but really nothing happened. No one died, nothing was really resolved and the cliff hangers were kind of dumb. Lost's season finale definitely whooped Heroes' ass.
edit: Also, Deadwood, Weeds, and Rome, are all worth giving a try. I've been meaning to watch Big Love, sometime. I've seen a few episodes and I thought they were kinda weird and funny in a good way. Surprisingly, it's very comedic to see Bill Paxton squirm to keep a secret. Has anyone seen this?

dexter-pretty fuckin' addictive, i have yet to get my hands on the second season.
the office-it's funny. one of my favorite shows on t.v.
the wire-just starting the 4th season, it's a really good show. someone said here that the second season kind of sucks, but it was necessary. i wholeheartedly agree with that, although it does have some ups.
30 rock-i'm a big fan of tina fey. baldwin's pretty good in this, too. pretty funny.
entourage-i'm waiting for the fourth season to come out on dvd. i don't think it's hilarious, but i enjoy it.
freaks and geeks-old show, only one season, but it's really good. it's got a lot of actors involved with apatow productions (especially knocked up).
friday night lights-oh saarenson, when will you ever learn
pushing daisies-great show, the best out this year
criminal minds-i'm falling out of the loop on this show. i haven't liked it half as much since gideon left.
it's always sunny in philadelphia-always leaves me satisfied and smiling.
