The Shield is pretty damn awesome. I've never seen an episode that I didn't like (even the one where one of the guys blew up with a grenade* was pretty awesome >_<)

the shows i like enough to watch as the new episodes come out:

the wire - by far the best plot and character development of any show ive ever seen. if you dont like it you either werent paying enough attention, didnt watch enough episodes (at least the first four), or youre fucking stupid. i cant bend on this. season 5 has seemed kind of weak but im going to reserve judgment until i see the last two episodes. this is the first season ive watched where i had to wait week to week.

dexter - some guy on another forum described season 2 as "kind of a dark soap opera" and i gotta say i agree. the killing and detective parts are good enough to carry the show through the boring woman drama though. its a pretty fun show even though its flawed in a few ways.

always sunny in philadelphia - like seinfeld only with cursing and drugs. show is kind of hit or miss unfortunately, espescially during season 2. the night man/day man episode is hilarious and if season 3 was any indication the show is on an upswing

trailer park boys - a comedy you have to watch from the beginning. i downloaded the entire first season at once, and didnt really like the show until i got a couple episodes in. had i downloaded one episode at a time i probably would have quit after the first but since i had them all on there i plowed through a couple more and ended up loving the show... until the most recent season, which ive gotta say was pretty awful

the office - pretty funny at times, although the show has strayed from what i thought was funny (generally making fun of offices) to what most people like about the show (steve carrell's annoying as shit character saying random stuff).

off the air shows:

arrested development - i watched the entirety of the series in a total of maybe 5 days. i was fucked up or insanely hungover for pretty much all of the 5 days, and i probably had 2-3 month breaks between watching seasons. i remember it being funny?

sopranos - for some reason i cant help but compare this show to the wire.
if i hadnt seen the wire id think this show was absolutely brilliant, but having seen the wire first i found this show kind of frustrating. too much bullshit with whiny women, as with dexter. how come on most shows, dudes are way more tight than real life dudes, but women are way more aggravating and in the way than real women are? show is still worth a watch if you have the time.


next up for me to check out: deadwood

I like history and discovery, I really enjoy Ted Kopel's documentaries. I watched the last stand of the 300 last night, which was really well done by History. Mythbuster's isn't too bad either, I wont go out of my way to watch it but if someone else downloads it I'll watch it.

I loved the first season , I just didn't get the same feel about the show during season II. I'm sure they've recovered and it's better than ever.

edit: I've done a bit of research and see that they've kept the same story plot just showed different aspects of the city. I think it's a unique way of telling the story, it made me lose focus though. I'll probably just mass download all the episodes and catch up when I get some spare time. I just opened up Season II, time to get through this.
