Here's how it works: one box sends radio waves over to the other, creating enough energy to activate gas in a fluorescent light. Kanzius put his hand in the field to demonstrate that radio waves are harmless to humans.

"So right from the beginning you're trying to show that radio waves could activate gas and not harm the human-anything else," Stahl remarked. "'Cause you're looking for some kind of a treatment with no side effects, that's what's in your head."

    "No side effects," Kanzius replied.

I saw this special the other day on TV. I also saw this on TV several years back without the nano particles. But isn't this the same guy that discovered you can burn salt-water with radio waves? If that's true, then you can sure as hell run a car off of salt-water and radio waves. Now why isn't anyone developing such a machine? Because Big Oil is controlling the market for new cars, that's why the extremely effective electric car GM came out with was taken off of the market. All the motor companies are in bed with the oil companies and keeping us from having a cheap fuel supply. And back to the cancer thing, they say they're about 4 years from being able to test on a human and being able to develop the antibodies. I'm excited about this, but think it will ultimately end in failure as many of the other alleged cancer cures.

            Very interesting.
Is there a way to have the nanoparticles attach to cancer cells only?
I guess that would be the next vital question that needs to be answered.

No, I'm just of middle eastern decent. I don't follow the faith, I think it (and every other organized religion) isn't right for me, and I eat pork (I especially like bbq pork, bacon is good but I still like turkey bacon better). Really, the only person in my family that is religious and follows the faith of Islam is my father and only because he's afraid of death as the age slowly passes by. Hell my brother-in-law is a Christian farm boy from Michigan. And my new niece just been baptized.

So to reiterate, I am not Muslim.

Yes and no. I worked in a lab that investigated nanosized particles for systemic delivery in humans (liposomes) and they accumulate in tumors by themselves due to the fact tumors have 'leaky' bloodvessels where the particles leak out and don't get back in the bloodstream efficiently.
Coated particles that are supposed to stick to the cancer cells work in a lab setting, but in humans the additional effects are not so great as hoped.

Also, multiple nanoparticle based therapies are already developed, but they all have disadvantages. Liposomes filled with toxic chemicals that slowly release them in tumors for example might already be a good alternative over current chemotherapy.
The biggest problem at the moment is that the liver, spleen and lungs (and white blood cells, which function is to remove particulates from blood) have very fine vasculature that causes the nanoparticles to get stuck there, causing side effects. That said, it still is a very nice system, similar to what a friend of mine was working on. He used gold nanoparticles that were activated by heating them to a few degrees over body temperature (which has slightly more limitations than this system I think).
