edit: on a personal note if Canada's politics become heavily Americanized (more so than it already is) and you see our economy go right down the fucking tube (doubt it, our housing markets are a lot more stable than American markets) then I'm so fucking jumping boat and taking advantage of my ability to get a citizenship in the U.K.

your central bank refuses to bailout any bank that made retarded investments. so you guys might see a few banks close, and that might hurt some areas, but it won't take out your entire financial system. for once, a government planner must have realized the long-run harm of Keynesian fiscal policy (which is the one thing even worse than communism)

what parts are? I think we've danced around the Universal-Health Care issue enough times to give it a fucking rest, it's Universal Health Care not Socialist Health Care. We have social programs in both Canada and America and we both agree at least I think we agree that way too many people openly abuse these programs.

Child Care isn't socialized, as well as many other things. I think it's better to stay on topic though, it's undeniable that banks stay afloat by not handing out mortgages to people who can't handle them. I highly doubt we'll see any Canadian banks go under, the Ontario government has prepared for a hard hit from the American economy going downhill but even now while Americans are losing their homes and banks are falling apart and economists are refusing to admit there's a recession the Canadian economy isn't doing so bad.

Weather this storm, get your country back on track and hopefully my mutual fund that is heavily invested in the American economy goes back up, I bought it dirt cheap so I'm hoping for nothing but big gains.
