OK so im out of the military, in which i was an electronics technician in the navy ok...
before i joined i did a year of school majoring in economics... but basically did a few econ classes and basic core classes you need at every university
then i figured i would major in english since its always been easy for me, but the school i want to go to thats close to my job doesn't offer a real good program for what i want, which would be more of a secondary education degree i guess, since the english major does not give you a teaching license
so I need to change degrees again... here are my choices so far
Electrical Engineering: its a step by step degree program, get your associates first then bachelors within the 4 years
IT/Computer Technology: I could focus on anything within this, be it networking, internet, programing, etc
Liberal Studies: with the credits I already have and various credits through the military I could get this degree really fast compared to the others, maybe 2 years for the bachelors... however its useless on its own, its more a stepping stone for a masters program
Economics: I could go back to my old major with this one, basic stuff
Basically, I have a lot of bills and work 40 hours a week to pay them, so getting a degree fast is my goal, and I want one that is usefull directly with a bachelors, I probably will pursue a masters but I still need a job either way, and a good paying one
this puts me in the dilemma of what to choose, the liberal arts is a garbage degree that you can't do anything with a bachelors, but I could get it fast... the others I could actually get good jobs with a bachelors alone...
so which one should I choose based on your guys' opinions? The electrical engineering would come easy since I did all of that through the military anyway, but I did computer networking through the military too
I only have 1 semester to choose, since i have so many credits already. I'm more or less a glorified junior with the credits I have, but one more semester with core classes I can transfer to any degree. If i do electronics or computers however, then I should start with those classes immediately
