Yeah I know I should rent out the second bedroom given I'm paying $1190 a month. But I'm sure you guys know my personality well enough to realize how anal I am and how stressed I get so a roommate is definitely not going to help that. I did have a roommate from September through December last year when my friend Denise was asked to move out of her friend's condo. We got along well enough but that's because we are extremely close and even then she had tendencies that irritated me like leaving dirty dishes in the sink for days when I have a perfectly good dishwasher! A roommate also means I have to give up the large bathroom in the hall and stick to the master bathroom which does have a shower, but not much counter space... yes I'm THAT picky

Besides, money isn't my main concern so an extra few thousand dollars isn't going to make a big difference. I want to start looking for a condo or house to buy, but I have to wait to find out if I'm getting a promotion and if we are hiring people so I won't have to work myself to death anymore.

I'm sure there is a lot I could do to add some personality to my apartment. After 16 months here I finally brought some of my framed pictures from home to hang up and a few plants wouldn't be a bad idea. I've wanted to move my desk into the living room so I can watch TV while I play computer but I know it won't look very good with all these wires and the desk could only go where the movable fireplace currently resides. The apartment is 1000 square feet, but it's not used very efficiently. I've thought about turning the 2nd bedroom into a small gym, but another friend of mine might want to move in around September so I'm holding off on that.

When I buy a condo or a house I'll put a lot of money and effort into designing and filling the rooms. For now I just want a clean, quiet, new and spacious place to unwind when I get back from work at night. If anyone has some easy decorating ideas I'd love to hear them though. I'm very lazy when it comes to these things so I'm open to suggestions.

I'll get working on it. I wonder where you can order that stuff in bulk because I'll need enough to apply a new layer every week or two.
