I don't know, maybe it might be an european expression or at least here in Finland. Most people here in Finland know them as "skate shoes" at least back then when I used to skate. As I said, mostly because skaters tended to use em. They are catogorized as skate shoes, though I still think that people say etnies, dcs, adios and etc. Though if you check search for etnies with google, you can see that etnies homepage says: "Manufacturer of skateboard shoes and clothing. News on latest products and team members."

i've never heard anyone call them skate shoes, we just call them etnies or dcs. but never skate shoes. yeah i was being a little too snappy. I know all about the grip and everything i used to skate a little bit, plus one of my best friends is sponsored.

Might just check out some etnies next time when I got shopping for shoes. I haven't really weared any etnies shoes, ever. I guess its because I kinda go with the feeling when I shop for shoes.
