I don't mean to talk to highly. But just think about it, yeah i will get high sometimes with some friends, but this kid was been nearly caught by THE POLICE with weed. He's gotta know where to draw the line, any thinking animal learns.. Yes Jerome can do exactly whatever he wants, but eventually, i think, all this reckless weed smoking(such as stories like these) will catch up with him. I think i have the right to tell someone to grow up for one reason, common sense.

I tell Jerome to "grow up" because i am younger than him and i even i know you gotta be fucking crazy to go to some random park at night with cops left and right, with weed on you and booze in your car. He needs to fucking grow up because this is like what? the third time? and he still has no intentions to stop. Any thinking adult can recognize serious punishment.

Again, i do get high too, but i don't set myself up for situations like jerome (e.g. don't smoke with groups). And if i do nearly get caught this way, i can easily give it up, i haven't touched weed in about a month, and i don't even think about it. The last time i got high i was with 1 other friend and we went to a little get together with 4 other girls, we just passed around a bong and a piece, there were max like 6 people, but we were in a girls basement while her parents were in the Bahamas. It might not seem like a huge difference to what you did, but that subtle difference is the difference of getting caught and not.

They went camping, half the time when teenagers are out in the woods camping they're either drinking, smoking, or fucking. He didn't purposely put himself in a situation where he'd get fucked over, he was camping.

Your logic works as such, you'll continue to smoke weed and look down on others and once you get caught you'll quit. I don't even think you're a) comfortable with smoking weed, and b) comfortable with the idea of doing something illegal.

Any veteran of smoking weed can tell you a couple of things, forests at night are not necessarily a great place to smoke weed. You're dealing with shit head teenagers who either want to jump you, fight you or just fuck with you. I find these types of people easy to deal with, especially when you're not alone because the intimidation factor goes right out the fucking window. Not only do you have to deal with shit head teenagers you've got to deal with two other classes of assholes, societies low lifers and cops.

If you want me to answer no, there should be no reason for Jerome to even think of the consequences of being caught. Obviously he is afraid that people -that will mean something later in his life- will frown upon this behavior.
But it is his behavior! A lot of people choose not to drink under a certain age or do drugs, because they believe it's bad. Jerome lacks this belief and -in my opinion- should stand by it.

Claiming that he isn't stupid because he doesn't want to get caught is laughable. There wouldn't even be something stupid about wanting to get caught, if there's reasons for it!

But to answer your question; If the law would say it to be an offense, I would consider it an offense. I would break the law if I thought that the law was senseless, yes, but then I wouldn't try to cover it up, because I would be confident that I could convince other people of the innocence of the act.

Sometimes people tell me about the shit they did when they were young, how they were caught for vandalism. I lose some respect for these people, I find it despicable, and never in my life -not even as a child- I found myself on that level of retardation.

i don't think you quite understand american culture, or perhaps more specifically southern culture. getting your first misdemeanor for alcohol is more or less a redneck rite of passage. alot of people here don't think the drinking age should be 21, and in alot of southern states the drinking laws are very lax. we can't lower the drinking age or else we'll have no more money for building highways (fuck government srsly), but we have alot of laws allowing 'underage' drinking if it's on your property, or with parental consent, etc (my brother pavement exerted more effort researching ways of being able to drink than he's exerted in like 12 years of public school). that's probably one of the reasons the cops took it so easy on us - didn't even take my license.

so maybe if i lived in your country, in your city, lived under your legal and enforcement system, your assertions would be applicable. i have definitely considered the consequences of my actions, i just didn't reach the same conclusions - because here, obviously, there is little to no consequence. no matter how 'obvious' it is to you... perhaps you should consider the entire context of the situation, and don't assume i don't consider consequences. if i didn't consider consequences, i would be a socialist.
