why bother when the senate and house can pretend "they debate" about laws, then go and take a 4 week vacation, they need to sit the fuck down and actually do something. All i heard from the democrats were that they were going to get something done in the first 100 days or whatever. They continued to disappoint. In fact in a recent story i read somewhere, some people actually decided to debate a law then the house leaders turned the lights off on them and continued to their 4 week vacation.

it seems the only time they are actually doing something is when its giving themselves their annual raise. Its a joke.

I have said it before but the technology exists where the public could vote directly on all government legislation. Although this will never happen as those with power will never give it up, and we no longer have the physical strength to take it.

Oh, the government's been passing all sorts of laws, just nothing the american people would care or should know about. They might throw out a pithy "somehow save our entire economy by drilling in a small area off of florida" law every few months, but you oughta see the amazing legal work and progress bush has been doing on defeating democracy!

what i'm asking myself is why? why cover your ass when it's obvious you have something to hide. You can't be impeached this late in the game (well if clinton made it). Just let her spill the beans, and pardon whoever you need to. I mean, if all of his aides were convicted of crimes, and he then pardoned them, who would really think any less of the man. If he's trying to "strengthen the presidency", why? He's out of office, and his cronies are too old to run anyway.
