Kohlberg's theory is, as its name suggests, a theory. Not only that, it's a theory based on Western ideologies, which has a high emphasis on individual rights and freedoms. On the other hand, the cultures of eastern societies do not generally put individual happiness or freedom over the well-being of the society as a whole. They are much more likely to make personal sacrifices to uphold the peace or stability of their group.

Uh, no, I say there is free will and that's where morals are coming from. Not from your God. That's why your reasoning doesn't make sense; we have free will and we defy anything we dare to defy if it doesn't stroke with our principles. Wasn't really a slant against you, just stating that at this point Obama could come out saying he was a staunch muslim or Palin could say that all homosexuals would be required to serve in the military and the outcome still would be up in the air. Just my opinion concerning how big of a unpredictable mess the last couple of presidential elections have been.
