Here's my prob...and I won't be long winded about it.

McCain really doesn't bother me all that much alone, but adding Palin and then saying it is to get the womens vote is somewhat ridiculous.

Persoanlly I would have had a lot more respect for McCain if he had chosen someone such as Maine Senator (R) Olympia Snow. She is a conservative and has a good track record to boot. No Scandals or impending lawsuits either!!

I just do not like what Sarah Palin says and what she stands for.

I personally do not believe that McCain even picked Palin and that she was a pick by the GOP comittee running McCain's campiagn.

Interesting that the interview with Cindy McCain last week on the Today show, she mentions how she does not agree with almost everything Palin says and stands for.

Palin I think will be more of a thorn as well as media distraction then if he had just picked a more qualified woman such as Snow or even....Texas Senator (R) Kay Bailey Hutchison. This may be the intention of the those running the campaign? distraction distraction distraction

The entire election process has turned into a ratings race for the media. People are now sidetracked by everything but the actual problems the nation faces. I do not care about Obama and his families escapades, nor do I care about Mccain and his houses...I do not care especially about fat ass hockey moms either. Stick to the topic and stop making f'n promises that simply said is just ear candy. No President lives up to 3/4 of the promises they run a campaign on.

LOOOL I can't believe any of you idiots still think this was a bad decision. Palin had more people watch her speech than Obama himself. She has fired up the republican party and not even the staunchest of obama media suck ups can find anything wrong with her politics so they are going after her family. But all this is doing is making people like her more. The democrats are actually thinking about getting rid of Biden now because of how well Palin is doing.

I honestly have asked quite a few women about the issue of Palin. Regardless of the media and the ratings, shit Evil Keneivel had more ppl watching him on TV try and jump the Grand Canyon...and oddly enough Geraldo had the nation held captive when he opened Al Capones vault...both had been complete flops...so I won't base anything upon a television rating. Many people just wanted to know who the hell she was...that in itself and the ratings does not calculate every TV viewer as a voter for McCain.

Back to the women I had talked to...my secretary for example is a staunch Republican and never has voted for a Democrat. She told me she still won't vote for a Dem, but will not vote for McCain based upon Palin as the pick. This is a devaout Rush Limbaugh & Sean Hannity listener as well...annoys me to no end. The other women I chatted to go to the same gym as I do & had similar feelings about Palin, but noted that they are registered Dem. and are not thrilled with Obama, but hate that McCain picked Palin and not a different woman for the job that does not have so many closet religious beliefs governing her opinions.

This is why I was curious as well about the pick and why Snow and Hutchinson had been passed over. I can understand it from a shock angle and it being a non-conservative move on picking an unknown, but on the flip side there are many women that just do not agree with her values and theory on womens rites.

All in all, in PA and the New England states, I see it as Obama country in a solid fashion, but it could have been different if he picked someone else.

Do I really care? No...but it does make for a good forum discussion

What's really funny is that Saudi Arabia does not believe in separation of church and state and is thus considered a terrible country. Palin so strongly believes our troops dying is for a "greater good", absolutely terrible, it's as if she speaks in the name of God; Proclaiming that each soldier's death was divinely chosen.
