  • HDMI Switcher--recommendations?

If anyone knows something about HDMI switchers, please help. I have a TV with 2 HDMI slots. Right now, 1 is being used for the PS3 and the 2nd is being used for the Cable/DVR box. I want a 3rd slot so I can hook up the DVD player. I've been looking at reviews online but I'm not really sure what works or what I need.

Also, I have one of the Logitech remotes that switches all the components needed when I hit "watch a DVD" or "play a game." If I get a switcher, will the remote be able to also switch the HDMI component? Are there switchers that automatically know what component wants to be used, and switches it to that? Does it need a separate remote?

I know at my parent's they have a switcher but they have to manually switch the component by pressing a button on the box.

    Can anyone help me out?

I have a Phillips one that I plug my PC and PS3 into. It has an auto button that when enabled detects which devices are on and off and displays accordingly. It also has a manual button for other times. No RC

i suggest you dont waste money on a switsch and buy a surround sound system with 3 input places instead. Your PS3/DVD/Cable devices go into the surround system, and one cable connects surround with tv.

Prolly even saves you money because you need smaller cables and those are frigging expensive.

            Lots of them out there:

On a side note DTF...I have a few of the Palooza shows, but have been asked to not let them out...at least the SBD's. The Audience recordings are all over the torrent sites and sound real good...especially the ones recorded with either the Schoeps or Neumanns. Try Tapecity.org, dime & hunger city or tradersden. They are up and available...especially the Radiohead show.
