I have a prepaid (non-subscription thingie) where I have to pay 22 cents for 1 text message. The rates per minutes I have no clue of, but it comes close to 25 cents per minutes at least... I should look into mobile telephone subscriptions :-(

I'll explain my costs a bit better

$20 a month - 100 minutes, up to 50 text messages, Free after 7pm Evenings & Weekends
$5 a month - 5pm Evenings & Weekends §
$5 a month - Call Display

Realistically you can easily do with a $20 a month plan and just call people on the weekends and evenings. Look the the conversion of Canadian to Euros, you're probably paying more per month, especially if you have to pay a monthly access fee.
