If you're trying to convince people not to vote Conservative, then you're doing a great job so far.

Yikes, I wish Iggy or Rae would have won the leadership race. The Liberals really shot themselves in the foot with Dion.

Personally I'm going to vote Liberal as I always have, because I don't think the NDP presents a platform which is practical, and Harper is a horrible PM. Still, I wish one of the parties would actually stand up and pay attention to the horrible deficit for cities, and stand up for Ontario and the GTA. If they did, they'd get all the votes in Ontario for sure. We lose way too much money to the rest of Canada.

hey, if we did some of what the greens suggested 10 years ago we would not have increased inflation trough gas prices. Granted, we probably would not have gathered enough money to support some wars for cheap oil in the past...

The green movement starts to become economically interesting, yes even competent. At lest in europe the green party is not a left wing anarchy/communism movement, it usually has economic competence beyond populism, something you can not always expect from the big parties.

I don't know man, he's got a lot of supporters... I've seen a lot of 'KHAN' signs in my area, I'm kind of worried. Considering the NDP haven't assigned an MP to my area yet I'm going with Bonnie Crombie, she's running as a Liberal, it also helps that she supported Michael Ignatieff.

I think they and the Liberals support cuts to the Income Tax (which most economist support) and not the GST, to off set any kind of carbon/gas tax. The Income Tax needs to be cut first besides everything else, GST cuts don't do anything. If the Greens and Liberals don't explain the benefits of a carbon tax and how it would specifically help people and business Harper might be able to pick up a lot of fiscally minded people.

              Edit: Just found this- http://www.cbc.ca/world/story/2008/09/09/iraq-bush.html

Funny how they pledge more forces there just now within a week of an election being called, and not say when they were actually needed months ago or when those in Congress were calling for them.

                        http://demanddemocraticdebates.ca/petition.html

I urge everyone to sign the petition, our prospect for democracy and change is not dictated by the Prime Minister. May should be involved in the nationally televised leaders debate.

Regardless of who you vote for, stopping a legitimate party from competing should not be decided by the Prime Minister. Harper picking and choosing who he competes against isn't any sort of democracy I want to be involved in.

                              Dear Green Party Supporter,

I am writing to thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for supporting my campaign to be included in the televised leaders' debates.

Because of you and countless thousands like you who donated money and deluged the airwaves, the Internet, newspaper letters columns and politicians' inboxes with a national outpouring of outrage, the broadcasters have now reversed their decision to exclude the Green Party.

I am both humbled and inspired by what I have witnessed in the past few days – the exhilarating spectacle of Canadians rising up to protest a blatant injustice.

Your victory isn't just a victory for the Green Party, it's a victory for democracy and for the fundamental Canadian values of equality and fairness.

Thank you again for standing up for democracy.

                              Elizabeth May, O.C.

                              On a side note;

I'm tired of political strategy and always thinking twice before you vote, I'm tired of voting for parties I half believe in. I'm tired of constantly voting for someone because I'm afraid of what the 'other' party will do.

I want to believe in someone, I don't really believe in any party at this point. I'm afraid of not voting strategically, but if my riding deems it necessary to re-elect someone who crossed the floor then I'm doomed to bad representation no matter what I do. I'm only one single vote, and god help me will I no longer vote for something I don't believe in.
