Of course he doesn't. I know a couple pretty big idiots that are Harvard graduates but nobody on paradise-level. It's a respectable school and one look by an interviewer at a kid who thinks reminiscing about his "first boner, first jerk" is among the 4012 things he has to worry about instead of basic calculus 1 as a high school student will doom his chances.

Hey Blocks, do you know of any good books on the dynamics of closed kinematic chains? We're trying to do some stress calculations for senior design but we're working with a 4-bar linkage and I only know how to obtain the Jacobian for open chains.
enjoy all of the free time you have as a freshman/sophomore in engineering, it will go away completelyOriginally posted by paradise! View PostI'm not focusing in this class is all, i've got about 4012 other things to do.USA WORLD CHAMPS

this.
Lol, you seem so angry at the world. Take it easy there you failed miserable child. I brought up yale, once, to bring a contrast to what my goals were and what someone else's were. The Fact is this, big fucking woop you understand this shit. This is CALC 1. you are in your mid 20s, you should easily understand this. Why don't you just realize that you compared harvard graduates to someone around hmm let's say 8 years younger than them?
p.s. genocidal probably mad cause he goes to community college. It's alright dood, got an A+ in subspace forums, totally worf it. totally.4:BigKing> xD

Shouldn't you understand this then? I mean...you JUST got taught this stuff. Compared to someone in their "mid 20s" and who most likely doesn't routinely refresh himself on the very basics of calculus, you're not coming off like a guy who has a lot of options on where to go to college...Originally posted by paradise! Too true
Indeed I’ve found it quite scary the amount I used to know in school and the amount I’ve forgotten in this relatively short period of time.
The fact of the matter is if you aren’t doing a job requiring these sort of calculations or studying you don’t have much use for it and it goes by the wayside and after years it’s just a haze.
In the real world the only maths that I need to use is the basic stuff reallyIn my world,
I am King

Don't know if I can recommend anything useful. I haven't worked with closed chains before either. Never taken a formal course on this stuff either, so this might be dumb, but could you reverse your kinematics (perhaps numerically) and do the dynamics analysis in the open direction?Originally posted by D1st0rt View PostHey Blocks, do you know of any good books on the dynamics of closed kinematic chains? A book I used before was Robot Analysis: The Mechanics of Serial and Parallel Manipulators. I don't own it because it's not cheap, so I can't tell you if it has anything relevant to you. :-/

well yeah, our teacher taught us, but i have been missing that class alot and haven't picked up on the small details. I understand what the theorem implies, i just cannot picture it/have not taken the time to picture it with derivatives. I'm being tested on a ton of other things, which i think are a lot easier. I mean i'm only saying this because genocidal feels he really has a solid grip of Calculus, sounds like he is an engineering major. I never tried to come off like a guy who has options for college, this is a spaceship forum and i asked if anybody could tell me if i was right or wrong. I don't see how you can infer anything from my thread. I haven't had time for these simple little theorem tester questions, I'm teaching these 10-week long seminars on French, and i don't have jack shit time for "extrapolating differentiability/continuity using the intermediative value theorem". And to be honest this crowd has gotten a lil sketchy.Originally posted by Twerp View PostShouldn't you understand this then? I mean...you JUST got taught this stuff. I mean we have guys saying 1/x is differentiable for all reals. ppl saying 1/x is continous, and that all continuous functions are differentiable. Just wrong.
