Anyone here know somebody, or been to countries like Austria, Russia, Belarus or any other Eastern European countries? I could just look them up, but I'd like a much more personal description on the culture. What do they speak in Belarus anyways?
Money...Nice cock.

It would narrow down the options in your OP alot and you wouldn't have such a difficult choice to make, right off the bat.My father in law was telling me over Thanksgiving about this amazing bartender at some bar he frequented who could shake a martini and fill it to the rim with no leftovers and he thought it was the coolest thing he'd ever seen. I then proceeded to his home bar and made four martinis in one shaker with unfamiliar glassware and a non standard shaker and did the same thing. From that moment forward I knew he had no compunction about my cock ever being in his daughter's mouth.

Originally posted by Lizard Fuel View PostOk, so here's my deal. I have been accepted into a student internship with the US Department Of State, and I thought I would include my favorite group of internet rejects to assist me in making an informed decision on the matter. I only have to do 3 1/2 more years to receive my graduate (masters) degree in Foreign Policy, and I've been given the option to choose between several US Embassies and Consulates located worldwide, but local language proficiency is going to be required regardless of where I go.
Basically what I'd like to achieve out of this thread would be...based on individual experiences, which languages would be worth learning, and what would be some of the best places in the world to experience? As of right now, based on my current knowledge of languages and the current vacancies being offered to me, I can only choose between Perth, Australia, Abu Dhabi UAE, and Kabul Afghanistan. With countries like Austria, Rwanda, Canada (french), and the Red Republic (and a couple others) I'd feel like I sold myself short if I didn't at least research other peoples experiences in any of those locales.
Any constructive opinions are welcome, and I apologize if I was not very thorough, I'm not all there right now.

Austria is a pretty awesome country. Vienna is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, and oozing with culture. I also love the cafe culture they have too, einspanner rocks.
Otherwise, I'd recommend China. Mandarin is the de facto second language of the future, one that you would do well to learn and learn well. Beijing is going through some of the biggest changes of almost any city in the world, and it's going to be increasingly a happening place and a centre of importance.
Failing that Japan is pretty fun too. Or you can go somewhere more exotic like Turkey.Epinephrine's History of Trench Wars:

Zerz, I don't know, this whole thing is a new concept in my life, but I highly doubt I would be granted any transfers as a student intern just because I don't like where I am. Besides, I've already made it perfectly clear I'd prefer not to get re-exposed to another muslim culture. I'd really like to go to Austria, but I have an unmerited stereotype of tons of Arnold Swarzenegger (whatever)'s walking around. But thanks to those who actually offered opinions based on personal experience, thats exactly what I was looking for.

Yea, I was in Austria for about a week and I didn't notice any super buff guys. Also, there weren't any cute guys, but I doubt that you care how many attractive males live there. The weather there is pretty nice too, at least while I was there. It's probably similar to weather in New England, but I'm not sure what it's like in the winter. Also, German is cool and easy to learn.Pandagirl!

The only difference I noticed is that they seemed a bit crudely racist. (But you could also say that we, in the Netherlands, are a bit anal about being politically correct.)You ate some priest porridge

I wouldn't call Austria Eastern European.
Also Epi, I don't think Vienna can compete with Prague to be honest. It is a nice city, but I would say Prague is nicer. Not to say Vienna isn't, but I think there are a bunch of cities in Europe that can compete with Vienna.
Also, learn Australian, interesting language.Maybe God was the first suicide bomber and the Big Bang was his moment of Glory.
