The idea he doesn't realize that Article I of the Constitution defines the role of the vice president of the United States, that's the Executive Branch.

But Biden is confusing which part of the Constitution covers the Executive Branch (it is Article II, not Article I)

I think Lott is only trying to say that Biden claims that Article I is the Executive Branch, which it is not. That Article I defines legislative tasks of a vice president -while he's not the president- doesn't help his argument.

I've known this story in particular for a while, but reading both sides I dont think either are entirely wrong. Its funny that you believe all this that you are fed...you really would believe that she doesnt know Africa is a continent. You'll conveniently dismiss all things against Obama/Biden as hearsay, but you believe some McCain aide that Palin didnt know that....

"The Vice President of the United States shall be President of the Senate, but shall have no Vote, unless they be equally divided". This is the ONLY power the Constitution gives to the Vice President as President of the Senate.

It is a ceremonial role in modern times and even Cheney who's pushed the boundaries of what a Veep can do in office never took "control" of the Senate or made such remarks, Biden's soon to be role in the Senate is almost non-existent. Honestly if it's the only "gotcha" thing you can come up with, a minor slip up, in comparison to Palin who believes the Vice President's role begins in the Executive and ends in god knows where, it's pretty weak.

Biden has a habit of speaking before thinking but his experience and knowledge far exceed that of Palin. And there is a difference between miscommunicating policy and ideas on where the ticket stands, and flat out making clear legal, procedural and factual mistakes on issues a person running for the second highest office in the land shouldn't be making. In short I'd rather have a politician (they lie, cheat, steal ect.. ect...) then a plain idiot in office and you would too.

Maybe that's because everything against Obama was being said by the opposition party while these latest things about Palin were being provided from within the GOP itself. If Palin really is as inept as portrayed, that's not a bad scenario for the Republicans compared to the worst case scenario that party supporters are intentionally spreading lies about each other. If the problem is just Palin, it's easy to fix quickly. If it's the latter problem, that's a bigger long-term problem for the party and will be much harder to fix.
