I love a guy that takes week off at a time from his job to just chillaxe at his ranch in Texas. That's why Obama is my kind of guy.

same amount of times kthx/Izor are going to make an Obama joke and high five each other
My father in law was telling me over Thanksgiving about this amazing bartender at some bar he frequented who could shake a martini and fill it to the rim with no leftovers and he thought it was the coolest thing he'd ever seen. I then proceeded to his home bar and made four martinis in one shaker with unfamiliar glassware and a non standard shaker and did the same thing. From that moment forward I knew he had no compunction about my cock ever being in his daughter's mouth.

or criticizing about a return to the Carter era energy policies.

This isn't a time for moderate politics, lots of investing has to been done in certain sectors in order to reduce our deficit, it's a fact of Finance (a sector in which I work in, but political economics can eat my shit, I hate it). Each side is going to disrespect each other to a large degree. and neither is 100% right, neither are the policies I support. We have to see how this plan works out.

If you like to read about economic history as much as me, you'd see there was just as much speculation about The New Deal as there is about this (probably more, the Internet and modern media does a great job of overexerting things). I'm optimistic about it, but will always be speculative because my job revolves around it, and I've lost half my 401k already in the past 3 years. Thank god I'm young enough, love my job, and have also saved enough to not worry too much about retirement and my children's college loans at this point; Others are not so lucky.

As a Moderate, the only right and left side bashing I will do is that moderate politics should have been applied 8 years ago and during the Carter administration. Those are the only occourences during my lifetime at least.

PS: I have never voted for Ralph Nader or Ron Paul.

so do you guys thing rejecting stimulus money is a good idea?

because my idiotic governor (and boss so don't tell him i said this) thinks its more prudent to spend it on state debt that he didn't give a damn about while creating in the past 6 years.

i think a bunch of other polticing politicians rejected it too, jindal, palin, maybe others.

anyone else completely disgusted with them taking a stand on "principles" (that they apparently just found) while their people are spiraling into debt and unemployment?

we now have the #2 unemployment, and the fastest growing. he doesn't think it's "prudent" to offset cuts in budgets for teachers and police with stimulus money.

People keep complaining that it's only temporary, and won't create a lot of jobs. I contend that it's not supposed to be permanent (we are hoping to recover, right?) and that it's more aimed at slowing the impending loss of future jobs due to budget cuts (fiscal year starts in june).

way too many people seem proud of his stand, even though it's going to cost a lot of people jobs if he's able to pull it off.

I remember reading that at the end of his presidency, Bush spent something like 450 days at Crawford... so basically he had a vacation day every 7 days or so.

It's waaaay too early to tell whether Obama will succeed or not. He's doing a lot of smart things, and he is in no way an ideologue. He's not going to persue some policy because he's stubborn and is willing to change course if he sees it prudent, which is his best trait.

We probably won't know for a few more years or even another 10 years whether he was a great president or not.

The same can be said about George W Bush. That statement was pretty much what his last speech was.

I don't think the new stimulus package is very smart... or very prudent for that matter. I truly feel sorry for the generation that will have to pay the bill for this.

The Obama administration has been pressing European governments to indulge themselves into more senseless overspending. News came in yesterday that they refused, and rightfully so imo.

ya lol, he's a pretty funny guy.. and charming.
i dont think he meant anything bad by it (but his facial expression changed real quick when he realized what he'd said LOL) i'm sure he was just trying to imply he's not some kind of super-human-president-guy and that he's just a regular dude, which is probably what most people would like to hear so they'd be able to relate to him.
