Favorite soundtracks from Final Fantasy

Name your top 10 favorite tunes from any Final Fantasy entry on any console. If you don't have that many, just name some of your all-time favorite tracks that you'd love to hear again on Youtube.

I've just been parousing through youtube and I've noticed that every soundtrack of most Final Fantasy games are posted by people on there, so I've wasted much time listening to all the songs when I'm doing my work.


Here's some of my favorites starting from #10...to #1

One Winged Angel is one of the best video game songs ever not just limited to the FF series. That whole OST is good heh its one of the reasons people love that game so much

In fact I still remember the first time my brother and I sat down and played the demo that we got with like...syphon filter for ff7 and we absolutely had to play that game

I always avoided final fantasy in game and music but apparently people seem to like this one Final Fantasy VII - One Winged Angel

This is the only one that I could sort of appreciate Nobuo Uematsu - Other World (FF X)

First one that comes to my mind would be: 'You are not alone" from FF IX. I definitely enjoyed a couple from FF VII such as Cid's theme and One Winged Angel of course. Seeing as FF IX was my favourite game I probably have more from there, 'The Dark Messenger' and 'Iifa tree' for example.

FF X - a version of 'to Zanarkand'
FF VIII - 'attack on Dollet', and Final battle the 'EXTREME'

I havent exactly listened to many of the older games songs, but I will certainly check out 'Opera' now.

Eyes on me - FF8. Piano version. Ah I was such a melodramatic teenager lol. Also I had the Faye Wong version play at our junior dance in 2001.

Well for ff7 i was always a sucker for the love triangle with Cloud.

So this always tugs a heart string whenever i hear it, for nostalgic value and the fact that it is just sad.

Matoya's Cave (Final Fantasy I)

Are my top three. Matoya's Cave especially is my favourite, especially because the original was great despite being from the 8-bit era. The Black Mages covers of them are great too.

EDIT: I like Balamb Garden from FFVIII as well.

I've spent several hours going through YouTube looking for soundtracks. Ended up with the boss music from Sonic 3 stuck in my head for days
If you search for someone called SilvaGunner then you will find playlists of several game soundtracks. Guy has uploaded 6000+ songs.

If anyone hasn't played Lost Odyssey then you should give the soundtrack a listen. It's written and composed by Nobuo Uematsu and some of the tracks are just wonderment.
