Do the aliens really keep a storage of hot meals and a stove for refugees in those hovercrafts? Do the aliens really have backseat futons with accompanying refrigerators like hovering limos? If not why aren't there motherships? They really have a troop of hundreds of thousands hovering 24/7 with no where obvious to dock?

If there are crystal cities beneath the earth, which is a good idea considering certain ways we'd have to manipulate phonons to resist geo-conduction/convection --- they must be somewhere that stealth coating won't erode away. So it's probably not under the ocean and could be within hollowed out mountains, similar to where the orbs come from. Maybe the orbs are spent fuel from the crystal cities that don't harm biology.

How are the aliens going to make contact, and if none of us know, how will they plan on selecting the considerately very few people they can harbor?

I think humans need to build an elevator to space functional as a water tower supplying orbiting solar farms and an international shelter. There can also be hotels anchored into the hydro pressure of the thermo-saline oceanic belt. Try to get all the free energy out of the current, especially near India where it flows fastest at like 9mph. I imagine we can get pods of 100 million and manage to assemble our network of '65'. I imagine welfare will come in the form of cell-replenishing oral spray with full vitamins and trace mineral organic forms. Mandated health and a global delivery system, considering it's finally possible being in closer proximity. If we get our tower built and populated maybe if there are aliens they will commend us for our efforts with gifts of nanotechnology for health applications to double our longevity.

Obviously we're going to need to 'come inside together' as a species when our 10,000 year wink of natural harmony subsides to the more long term natural states of earth with more frequent cataclysm. We'll need to get rid of financial exploitation, getting children to fly local deliveries in the global delivery system early on, and adapting them into the electronic luxury currency system. I imagine flying bubbles that can bounce off each other, using plasma propulsion, with an pilot chamber to view and steer. I imagine there will be civilian long term survival locomotives that can casually drive boat and fly and sleep a family. The atmosphere will give out in many ways, probably the sun and the weather and the plants. So we'll survive off very crucial decisions to produce algal blooms in space, probably cloning lobotomized blue whales, and mining the Tharsis ridge on Mars for superconductive and nuclear material.

We'll get rid of the precedent of working to pay the power structure in the forms of industry and government for civilian energy consumption. We'll also get rid of national boundaries for the most part, and protect ourselves from ecological disaster. The only real finance all along is our civilian workforce. We only really need entertainers, teachers, physicians, engineers, programmers, and most of all extremely fun ways for children to get adopted into the educational and employment systems. I recommend delivery jobs for a global delivery system, with average distances proportionate to age for early ages. The tower would be the first real colony of neo sapien. We won't even need aliens if we can get our nurturing aligned this wisely.

Edit: I forgot to mention farming insects. Nothing like reversing a plague to save your species. Imagine if we could produce cows that only come with their organs intact under some flesh, kept in an unconscious, living state attached to feeding tubes. Kind of like the matrix how they used humans except something humane like livestock. 60 Million 'blue whales' in rotating solar fish farms could probably make a lot of digested anaerobic biproduct of 'cloned algae' from subunit farms docking on schedule for harvest. The exact species are irrelevant; the idea is to use space for it's space to supply limitlessness for a collective 6.5 billion of the most intelligent consumers in our galactic region. Liquefied insect larvae tubed into half of a blue whale in the form of an organ system in stasis, with the insects fed on algae from the solar farms. Some kind of ultimate product of the free biological energy for perpetual motion everywhere. The era of the bio-pellet barter market.

Edit v2.0: The purpose of using the blue whale would be it's size. I think we can understand the principle of energy generated from a hamster in a wheel. If we can scale that to 60 million blue whales swimming in tanks we get the big picture. Get the species to perpetually generate water currents to fuel hydraulics for electricity or whatever. We may even have another 60 million electronically circuiting in oceanic tanks down on Earth.

Maybe we need some kind of shark that has to continue swimming to absorb oxygen. The oxygen won't be a problem when we have plants making that, and unlimited ocean water and ocean floor minerals.

Honestly I think India will be the nation to leap on the project if it were presented without demand prior to any ecological urgency. Their sheer manpower, and lack of being egotistical like USA Russia and China makes them prime candidates for whatever.

Then there's demand subsequent to ecological urgency. I think I'll dedicate my life to making it possible for our species to regain the direction toward survival. Threaten the Bilderberg group with mass extinction, that kind of thing. World hostage situation with demands of establishing international unity with a construction effort. Now, how to set up the threat. I think I should first try to ignore aliens and stick entirely to the easiest to acquire bunker buster bombs. get a cargo ship in my possession to transfer it to an ecological soft spot with enough potential energy to disrupt el nino, the annual monsoon, or even produce decades of winter.

Build now or everyone dies. Abandon physical currency for international electronic currency. Civilians get all applicable locomotive energy in our technological store as a reward for seceding to international refuge from exploitative financial units with nationalist agendas.

Threat from man-made ecological sabotage resolved. Aliens rendered obsolete.
