Oh what a load of bullshit from the both of ya: 'Value of tradition', 'They're uniting Holland' or 'Being Royalty isn't that easy'. MY ASS.

I don't really care if the Royal Family loses their title/national puppet-show-position or not.
My point is: It's beyond ridiculous that 100 million euro of tax-money goes their way every year to pay for their 'expenses'. (like keeping their old-ass boat floating costs about a ton a year). Funniest is that not even our ministers can show where all the money is going, it's fucking pathetic.
And it's not like they haven't got a sufficient income of their own from the ridiculous amount of wealth they acquired (our Royal Family has about 2.5 billion euros, but don't have anything to spend it on.). But why should they pay for their costly lifestyle themselves when the taxpayer is "willing" to do so, eh?

Seriously, if they want to keep their position as Royalty and continue to live like they've been doing, let them pay for it themselves. Give me one good argument why they shouldn't? And no I didn't count 'we have enough tax-income to pay for it' as a good argument, I can think of a thousand better ways to spend those 100 million euro.

We seem to have more than enough money to keep the whole country running, to keep our healthcare going, to keep everything else going. The money that goes to the Royal House really is not that much. Besides, it is not like being Royalty is that easy either, you didn't choose them, but they didn't choose that position either, yet I think that our Royal House does an excellent job. They are not actually running the country, but people you did choose are, so what is the problem? Besides I think they are a lot more valuable than you might think. It does help uniting the Netherlands for instance.

You might be too young to understand the value of tradition, or maybe you just don't care about it as a person. That's fine. To be honest I'm not too crazy about our king and queen myself.

HOWEVER, I also understand that there are many, many that likes that we still keep around our king and queen for the sake of tradition. I don't see what's wrong with having a "monarchy" when it makes many others happy. The expenses aren't really that big. If you feel that your country is poor then find other ways to save money, and stop being a grinch for others' sense of tradition.

    End.

You have to agree that the whole idea of having a royal family is absurd. You inherit your position as king or queen over a country. We spend millions and miiiillions on them each year. Why should I pay for a king that I have not chosen that basically does nothing? PR work and charity work, sure. Still nothing compared to the financial loss or the loss of democracy.

Well the sake of tradition costs a fortune and in a contemporary democratical society such as the one we have today it's all very hyporcricital.

Norway has it? No? I think only Finland is without? Finland is growing with my eyes tbh.

secondly.. this attack was fucking retarded.. like wtf was he thinking? what damage could a fucking swift do against an heavy bus? at most the queen could've gotten a whiplash.. it was a really weird suicide attempt at best..
then again, a good thing he wasn't one bit smarter.. then he would've loaded his swift with explosives and have done a catastrophic amount of damage..

oh here's from more shocking material for those who like to watch that kinda stuff: NC-17 EXPLICIT http://www.rtl.nl/components/actueel..._apeldoorn.xml

ps. i never gave fuckall about queen's day. the entire royalty house just costs a needless amount of tax-money. we're not in the fucking middle ages anymore. but yeah that's besides the topic.
    Holy shit fucks!
Need a bigger warning sign for that kinda video.

I mean, you see all these people just float around, the police not stopping them from coming close to the injured/dead and these dudes in tight bicycle shorts and helmets looking around like its a carnival. Then you have like one random girl screaming nonstop like its a rollercoaster.

I just know if you had this type of situation in the US, people would be scrambling to help the victims in an obvious life or death situation. Apparently they don't do that in your country.
LOL. Good idea! Let's all jump at the victims en masse, that'll surely increase their chances of survival. Apparently the driver in the video is not the only retard around.

@ bram: agreed, I'd like to see the royal house abolished as well. But then again, let's not forget the 'unifying' role that they play. I mean, Queen's day is the only true people's holiday we have.
