the only 2 reasons that football is not big in America are quite simple:

#1: there is no advertising time during the course of the game, unlike American football, baseball, and basketball where you can advertise the shit outta people.

#2: America likes to do things to spite everyone else in the world, e.g. the U.S. customary system of measurement which is absolutely retarded compared to the metric system, but we use it to spite all your asses, thus we don't engage in the world's game, instead we beat their asses at all the games we invented. Leaf, to get mods to do anything about the most obvious attempts in trolling (not even remotely funny either this time), you just have to do the same thing in the threads they care about.. Just go and spam random pictures of football-players (or w/e) in the NHL/NBA threads.

Always interesting to see any kind of election goes down. Lots of attention from the media on specific things and you see everyone remotely political going "yeah, vote on that, we'll do it this time" and then come election day, BAM! not even like 3-4%, it's always funny to see! But we'll see though, the whole IPRED / Big Bro society shit a la USA isn't being appreciated in Sweden so we'll see what happens.

To get this thread back on track, I'm an American that's interested in these elections but doesn't hear about them in the media (also has little time lately to seek out news). Can someone please give me a little info on what exactly members of the EU will vote on? I don't know what's at stake but I'm interested.

And while American and European football can coexist and both be awesome in my mind, but our TV rocks your shit. We did the Office better, we do drama better. Our history makes for cheaper sitcoms. Our entertainment/culture is and always will be America's biggest export. Dr. Who sucks.

We will be voting on the representatives for the EU parliament.

And the English office is still better, I like the US one, it's good, but English is still better, besides they are still using Ricky Gervais to help make the US one.

I wouldn't bash British tv, they make some good stuff, really good quality stuff. If you wanna bash any tv, bash Dutch tv, we make terrible shows and we have terrible actors besides the 3 or 4 that made it to Hollywood (we used to be decent and we have some good older movies, but whatever they turn out today is bad).
