I thought flannel was a grunge thing.

yeah it was. but indie is to the 00's what grunge was to the 90's. i was at a mountain goats show last winter, holy fucking flannel. went to a cafe a few days ago. your typical vegan menu, super trendy, we handwrite our specials every day in ridiculously elaborate fashion on a chalkboard type place. holy fucking flannel.

i think flannel has been absorbed by indie kids. but i could be wrong.
